Splatoon is Nintendo's unique twist on the shooter genre. Shoot ink on both your friends and environments to win the match! Players can turn into squids and 'swim' through their team's ink color. Players can also use their team's ink color to slow down enemy movement. It's ink or be inked in this chaotic marriage of third person shooters, de Blob, and good ole fashioned paintball.
I had quite a fun overall Splatfest. Happy to have been on the winning team. I was paired up with pretty fairly leveled opponents on the Red Team but I think for me anyway, what made it was for the first 30 or so matches it was me and two other players who were really fairly matched and we made an awesome team. Once they left me, my luck changed and then I had things to do. It was hit or miss when I returned to make Pokemon Blue Queen.
I love Splatfests. Keep them coming Nintendo. I love the whole Nintendo-themed one though. Makes it more interesting to me.
Haha, I can't...I don't know what I'm trying to say here.
Yes, I'm half a sentence in and I've already lost my train of thought.
"I can't believe the Splatfests are still going," I think? I haven't touched this game since August or so. Wild. They do them weekly? When was Cat v. Dog? I was there then. The fact that the first one got F'd up probably soured me, honestly. Too bad.
@Mr_Mustache The content updates ended in January, so all the content has now been released. They've said that Splatfests will continue, and there may be more balance/bug fix patches if necessary. That's the current status of the game.
@DrFinkelstein It's always nice to get a full squad together, but it seems tough to schedule. I'm free most evenings if it's after 8 or 9PM EST, that's when I unwind from the day.
I'm pretty backed up on updates/etc., ie: I can't even check for Smash Bros. DLC because the last stuff I bought hasn't been installed properly yet because I haven't fired up the game. Friday seems to be a busy day for me..
What is the deal with people in Splatoon? Groups of people will go into random matches in Turf War but if they aren't on their friend's team, then they'll just spam the squid button. This makes them flop around like an idiot and waste time. It's not even cool to see on the other team. In fact it makes them a target for me. It's frustrating because it seems half the time I'm in Turf War these days I come across these idiots.
What's the appeal? No stats track the fact that you may lose or win more. No stat tracks this against your friends. There is NO UPSIDE to this. Anyone else encounter this in the game? Anyone have an idea of who the hell it doing it and why?
Also, I'm still going to be playing for a bit. Come join me!
I've seen this, but it's extremely rare for me. Maybe have seen one or two people do it in my entire gameplay experience with Splatoon. I guess they just get a kick out of screwin' around online, but it seems like it'd get old.
I'll be getting on later tonight. Hope you'll join me, and others! I'm off to run some quick errands and get dinner now.

I was an A- in Ranked but I slipped down to B+ and then back to A- today. I think I'm more open to ranked battles and not giving a shit about my score because I know I can float. It's fun and I rack up points quicker. I'm still a lousy 41… blah!
Well speak of the devil, a new Splatfest announced. Spongebob vs Patrick… as someone who doesn't watch… that's a bit disappointing. At least with the lame Transformers one I could pick Good or Evil. Jokes aside, I have NO idea who I prefer more. Probably Spongebob. I get that Patrick is some dopey guy but I like the general gist of Spongebob.
