FINAL FANTASY Tactics A2 is one of my all time favorite games. I'm very excited to get the opportunity to play the original.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is the first game I remember getting sucked into character/party customization for hours at a time. After I realized I was spending more time in prep than in battles, I got burnt out and put it down altogether. Good game, but it hit the wrong buttons for me at the time.

I never did beat Advance...now seems like as good of a time as any to give it a second shot.

Some pretty good sales in the eShop, including games like Minish Cap, Earthbound, Affordable Space Adventures, Zero Escape, Shantae, and Etrian Odyssey.

Always been interested in Minish Cap, Earthbound, and Shantae. Sales you say? I have like $36 in my eshop account. Never played Minish, haven't played much of Earthbound since I rented it as a kid, and I've never touched Shantae.

My eye is also on Megaman 7 (hardly played it ever) and Breathe Of Fire 1 and 2. I played a decent amount of those 2 back in the day.

Ever since I got Turok on PC I've wanted to play old games again. Not that I wasn't already a repeat player, but now I'm itching to play a larger variety of games (either replays of games I haven't played in a long time or experiencing games I missed out on) now.

@nate38 I owe it to myself to play Earthbound. How is Minish Cap?

@cooliocuneo

I liked Minish Cap. The shrink mechanic made things interesting, and Vaati was a good villain.

I might get Child of Light! Considering Breath of Fire 2 as well. Any opinions on that one here?

Minish Cap is a solid Zelda. Not amazing, but altogether strong and easily worth buying if you want a top-down Zelda adventure. And you all know how I feel about EarthBound...

@TriforceBun

Breath of Fire 2 is a good JRPG, but be warned that the translation is hilariously awful.

"Will you come inchu my mind?" Bwahaha.

Final Fantasy Explorers is good, grindy, addictive fun.

The Tactics Advance game is VERY engaging and surprisingly deep. The story is pretty light-hearted, but the gameplay mechanics are something else.

Anyone that hasn't played Zero Escape should take advantage of the sale and download NOW.

Agreed! Except, you should play 999 first, and if you've already played that then you've probably already played Virtue's Last Reward.

People should play 999 for a quick taste of awesome. Then play Virtue's Last Reward to have your mind blown.

All I remember is it being good. It's a SNES game! Almost all SNES games are good!

@Shadowlink

Oh, I'm not saying that VLR is an inferior copy of 999! I'm saying that anyone who's played 999 has probably been so excited to play VLR that they already have!

I found 999 to have a much better GIANT MINDBLOW than VLR, but VLR had a ton of awesome tiny mindblows that work well for Part 2 of the trilogy. How I feel about VLR is dependent on how well Zero Time Dilemma is able to stick its landing and end the series on a high note.

...Well that's alright then.

At that price I'd recommend Virtue's Last Reward even if you haven't played 999. You'll track a copy down after you finish VLR and wish you'd played 999 before, but still. Incredible price. And with the 3rd installment coming up this year, it's time to get hyped.

@TriforceBun Child of Light is a good side-scrolling, turn-based RPG, but, I'd suggest waiting for a better sale. I bought the game for $3.75 so I'm sure such a sale will happen again sometime.

@carlosrox

SNES games are good. But I do have a lot of my plate right now...hm.

@anon_mastermind

I haven't played any of these. I'd like to start with the first at some point though.

Whoa! That seems like a steal. I tried a bit of it at my sister-in-law's and it was quite charming, but I'm tempted to wait if it ever dips that low again.

Gonna pick up Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Like Fink, I loved the A2 but have never had a chance to give the original Advance a shot. Should be good.
