Hype is over, someone make a Game thread!

Done! I'll spiffy thus one up a but when I get back from out of state. Here for some sudden family business.

However, my copy of Xenoblade Chronicles X is arriving tomorrow and I am stoked! The reviews have been generally positive. I guess the game lacks slightly in areas but they can be overlooked for the sheer density and fun this game has. Looking forward to diving into it next week. Hopefully when I return sunday.

1. I haven't hit a limit yet. Haven't had to sell anything, 70 hrs in. I'll have to look again tonight, but I think last time I check my inventory, it showed that I had 127/999 weapons? If that's the limit, you'll have to play a looong time to hit it.

2. Oh, Blade points. Whatever division you're in, those points go to the same Blade Points pool. It's the third progress bar, when pressing the + button. You get those points by doing pretty much anything, whatever Division you're in. But you might get slightly more points when slaying tyrants when in the division specializing in slaying tyrants, for instance. In my experience, the difference isn't great enough to make it worth your time to switch up divisions.

3. I'm not sure if you can max them out. So far I've found BP to be sparse, I pretty much only get them when filling up the collectopedia or getting bio, archeo or mechanical treasures. But maybe BP-giving quests unlock when you finish the game?

It would make sense, because I think higher class levels unlock at some point. One character in my party has a "15+" class level. It would suck if you had gotten all possible BP in the game, and had spent them all, and then unlocked new arts and skills.

I hope to be on tomorrow, but I won't know for sure how my day is going until I'm IN IT.

@Guillaume

When doing the Squad Missions online, when its over and you're getting your rewards, at the top right of the screen it says "everything over 99 will be instantly sold." Which I appreciate!

There is a limit on weapons (as Gui said right up there), through 90+ hours, I had half of my weapons filled up. I started selling my old ones and now I'm back down to 425 or something. A good portion of them were Busted Rifles, but yeah.

I think Gui has it right with the Division points. The idea is to get in the Division which BEST SUITS YOU. If you want to work the Collectopedia, join Curators. If you want to explore, join Pathfinders. If you want to talk to everyone on God's Green Mira, join Mediators. I'm a Curator, but I do all those other things, too, but I'd get more points when helping people out if I were a Mediator than I do now. (And you CAN change day to day if you'd like. I don't.)

Someone is selling this game for $35 on a local facebook group. No case or instructions. I really should grab it, yes?
01/14/16, 23:03
@cooliocuneo

All the instructions are in the e-manual, so yes, I suppose.

Ugh, I just wrote almost the same thing, but it didn't go through. Weird. I also said:

"Is a case worth $25 to you?"

(And that in-game manual is like 40 some-odd pages!)

I was a Curator, but then I noticed that the Prospectors get the best division spoils every day so I switched

Ah... I forget about the e-manuals! I do so little gaming right now, but it is a great price, and everyone here seems to be enjoying it. Guess I'll take the plunge.

@mrbiggsly

What is the top prize available? I get Supreme Bonus every day.

@cooliocuneo

Usually you can hit the home button and it takes you to a manual (in most games now), but in that one if you hit the + button, "Manual" is an option at the bottom of that list. And it is lengthy.

Am I supposed to be doing something special when the view changes to the cockpit when I'm fighting in my Skell? All my arts are usually unavailable when this happens. Sometimes I can get one off but I that's about it.
01/15/16, 05:37
@gojira

What type of Arts do you have? Usually when the view changes, it actually removes the cool down timers on every Art. I'm not sure why it would do the opposite...

They have all been available to me since I switched to the Prospectors.

@d_Artagnan

Yes, but what do you pick? Is there something thats BETTER than a Surpeme Bonus?
01/15/16, 07:27
@Mr_Mustache

I guess the Personal Patch reward could be helpful if you are having trouble keeping everyone in your party alive long enough to kill your target. You could also use the Tension rewards to get Overdrive faster, if you have it unlocked, so you can do greater damage sooner in the fight. I don't know about the Skell rewards yet, still working on getting my 1st Skell.

As for myself, I have been collecting the Supreme Bonus reward except for the 2 times I selected the Salvage Ticket award, which currently seem like they are going to be useless from reading previous posts.

@Mr_Mustache

I hope to be on tonight.
01/15/16, 14:33
@Mr_Mustache

I just wanted to stock up on some Salvage Tickets so I can go nuts in the Skell when I get one. Before that I was taking the Supreme Bonus, but I'm thinking I could use some Heal Everyone and 3000 tension to everyone rewards too.

@TheOldManFromZelda

Me, too! (If anyone else is getting on later, join a Friends Group, hang with us, and when those things pop CLEAR! at the bottom right of the screen, READY YOURSELF FOR A SQUAD MISSION. Either go initiate it yourself, or press - when it pops up at the upper left hand corner, or head to the Barracks and find the initiated one under Support or Join or Active. I can't remember, I don't do that part often since I'm usually the initiator.)

@mrbiggsly
@d_Artagnan

Yeah, Salvage Ticket could be a good one. I still don't have a Skell though. YEP.
01/15/16, 21:42
Whoa... I thought I was slacking at 35 hours in, level 22, and no Skell
01/15/16, 22:09
@mrbiggsly

"Slacking," or "getting the job done?"

So apparently a decision I made in a really early quest just wound up getting someone killed now.

R.I.P. Carl, Guess I should have killed those piglets
01/15/16, 23:30
@pokepal148

Same. Now it's making me paranoid whenever I have to make a choice, which I suppose is the point.
