Yea, Buy 2 Get 1 Free isn't the best deal unless you use on it the big Nintendo games that are less likely to get dropped in price and you'll want to play right away. For a heavy hitter like Mario Maker, it's perfect.

@Zero

Yeah, as great a deal as buy 2 get 1 free is I rarely take advantage of it with new games, unless, as Jargon pointed out, it's on three recent Nintendo games I'd get eventually anyway. (Or I'll have my wife get them as gifts) $120 bones is still a bunch of money, and I absolutely will not play any games enough to justify the cheaper price. If you burn through games and trade them in, then B2G1 is a steal. However, getting games that are 6-12 months old and have fallen to $20-30 under this deal is how I usually do it.

Yeah, I heard about this the other day. It took a while to decide on a combination, but I eventually ended up with The Legend of Zelda: TriForce Heroes, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. I figure Zelda games are a good bet with this deal, though Captain Toad may not be the best price for it. However, I haven't seen anything better over the past year, and I really want to play it, so I guess it'll be worth it. I wanted to toss in The Legend of Legacy to have a lot of legends, but it wasn't in stock.

I decided to hold off on the Wii U heavy hitters for now, and wait to see if another such sale happens in December. That way I can add Xenoblade X into the mix. I think Best Buy usually does one around then.

Bayonetta 2 is $35 on Gamestop.com (free shipping with SAVER promo code)

@Jargon I forget, do all copies of the game come with the first Bayonetta as well?

@Zero

Yes.

eShop cyber week deals start tomorrow at noon.

Sony is having a huge flash sale on indie games for PS3 / PS4 / PSP / Vita.

Lots of good stuff in there for cheap. I'm TRYING to get Sound Shapes and Luftrausers but I guess I haven't signed into the shop in anywhile because it is making me do a bunch of updates.

@Zero Oh yeah I bought Sound Shapes and Hohokum and Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars last night.

It took forever. So many updates. Then the PS3 storefront is so sloooooow. And apparently there's no longer an option to NOT save your credit card information. I was looking everywhere for a way to buy games without PSN saving my card info, but that doesn't appear to be possible anymore. Because obviously PSN is unhackable and has never had credit card info stolen before. Now I have to go into my Account Settings and delete my credit cards, except that I apparently forgot my password so now I have to deal with that...

I'm not crazy about Nintendo's storefronts on Wii U or 3DS, but those are a godsend compared to PS3. Which is super sad because the PS3 storefront used to be way better before the big PS4-style update.

@nate38
Yeah, the PS3 store is terrible. The whole online infrastructure, in general, with the slow updates and patches, and everything. It's kind of amazing that they don't get called out for it more often.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are both $25 at Target. I might go see if Best Buy will price match.

A bunch of Sega's 3D Classics are on sale right now. I picked up about four more.

I kind of can't see what's going on in Afterburner II! Specifically, I can't see the approaching missiles.

Target is having a buy 1 get 1 half off on all Amiibo (as well as Disney Infinity / etc.)

PP Fight Pad (Zelda) is $10 at Best Buy. Works as a Classic Controller Pro. Looks like a GameCube controller.

@PogueSquadron

Intriguing..thanks for the heads up.

Just picked it up and I'm about to check it out. Keep in mind it is basically a Wii Classic Controller so it'll have to be plugged into the Wiimote. I mainly got it for N64 Virtual Console, Mario 3D World, and I guess anything else I'd use CC for. I really never liked the build of that thing.

Nintendo is having a huge eShop sale. Go earn those points!

Most of the games are about 1/4 to 1/3? off, which isn't too bad although a lot of Nintendo's games never drop in price so like... $41.99 for Mario Kart 8 at this point? I can find it cheaper elsewhere...

Some solid deals though, including DuckTales Remastered for $4.99.
04/09/16, 17:05
@Zero

And keep in mind you get coins for the full retail price, not the price you actually pay!
04/09/16, 17:49
I didn't get anything from the sale, but seeing Virtue's Last Reward at a nice price made me realize I should rent 999 while I have Gamefly this month...
04/09/16, 18:38
I don't think there are any available right now, but the discounts you can get from My Nintendo will also stack with sale prices.
