Splatoon is Nintendo's unique twist on the shooter genre. Shoot ink on both your friends and environments to win the match! Players can turn into squids and 'swim' through their team's ink color. Players can also use their team's ink color to slow down enemy movement. It's ink or be inked in this chaotic marriage of third person shooters, de Blob, and good ole fashioned paintball.
@Zero Not as far as I'm aware, no. But as you level up you'll gain access to more powerful weapons in the shop, earn more money that you can spend on upgrading your kit, and so on, so you'll power up indirectly in a way.
I wonder if we'll get any major updates soon. With the rumored Octolings being playable, I wonder if it'll just be a playable character or perhaps more to go along with it. I wouldn't mind a more meaty addition that features single player missions and character skins/gear to go along with it.
I'm glad that the Splattershot Pro and its Forge variant will conserve more ink with this update! I love using those weapons, but they run out of ink so quickly.
A huge Octoling-themed update would be awesome! I'd like to play some new single player missions from their perspective and unlock some cool Octoling gear along the way. I'm hoping they become playable in turf wars and ranked battles, too.
I need to get back into this game. So many others (and lots of life stuff) is keeping me busy but I miss my splat-crazed binges. I'm glad to see that Dynamo Roller nerfed a bit.
This is a set I made before the patch just to laugh at the absurdity of an inkling outrunning everything everyone while carrying a gun as big as she is...
This was the set I ran when I played after the patch and oh boy... with the ink problem mitigated now that gun backed by that kind of speed is just monsterous...
I don't mean to rain on your parade here but in a serious question, don't special powers diminish returns the more they're stacked? Clearly you'll still have a fast character but it's not a pure 3X here is it?
In another direction, is there a new North American Splatfest coming up? Pirates Vs. Ninjas? Or was that for another region?
An update already came out a few days ago but if you mean a major update, there hasn't been any news on one coming. I'm sure there will be in the future since Nintendo seems to want to support their bigger titles and with Splatoon being so popular, they'd be crazy not to.
Funfact: the main reason I stacked swim speed on this set was because I knew the Deco would have Kraken and those swim speed boosts make the Kraken move more quickly.
Although I wasn't expecting the Deco to show up this quickly.
