Welcome to the official discussion thread for Pokemon Shuffle on the 3DS!
To start, please add this game to your log, add it to your collection (if applicable), and (when you are ready) rate it using the link above!
So, how are you liking this game? I think it's fun. I'm playing it in small doses. I'm on battle 42 of about 159 (for now). I already got the Mew from a special event, too. I haven't captured all the pokemon I have battled. I'm focusing on moving forward and then coming back to catch them all. I AM making exceptions for those pokemon I can actually Mega Evolve.
By the way, how does this game compare to Pokemon Trozei? I haven't played that one.
Yeah, I'm not sure how they're pulling it off either, but it's definitely some sort of hacking exploit. Nintendo has been removing those scores and presumably banning those accounts though; it just takes them some time to get around to it apparently.
For example, they've all been removed from the high scores list now, so Nintendo is definitely aware of it and policing it, but I have no idea what you have to do or use in order to access these otherwise inaccessible Pokemon.
EDIT: At one time there was a glitch that was really easy to pull off that allowed you to use any Pokemon in the Pokedex before you caught (or even encountered) them, but that was patched away a long time ago, and since these Pokemon aren't even in the Pokedex yet, who knows how they're managing it.
Pro-tip. It's a dragon type, and with base power 80, potentially one of your strongest. The minute you catch it, add it to your Escalation team. It'll super effective itself and you can (slowly) build it up ready for when you get the Stone.
I've resisted adding it to my team since doing so would remove a stronger Pokemon from my team (all of my super-effective-against-Dragon-types Pokemon have an attack power of over 80), but once I get the Mega Stone I'll be switching M-Glalie out for M-Latias.
If the difference isn't that much and you're still clearing the field easilly, a downgrade in power shouldn't hurt. A little investment now will make Mega Latias that much more potent in the post-50 game.
I've nearly got it to level 3 (86 power) which handily outstrips my Level 5 Rayquaza and Haxxorus

Well, I'm stuck on Level 50 of Latias. I just can't beat it itemless no matter what combination of Pokemon I use. So I'm devoting a few lives towards Ampharos grinding to see if I can get Latias and Diancie leveled up a little bit.
I dropped an Attack up on that. Seemed the most efficient way.
Strangely enough, I managed to just complete Lv70 itemless on the last turn. I would have thought that would have been harder than 50. I must have got good luck with my combos. Or Latis's presence counted for more than I thought.
I should raise up Diancie and switch out Rayquaza. That Barrier Bash+ might come in handy down the track.
New contest, and with a new contest comes new (or maybe just repeat) cheaters. The top 5 are filled with Ditto and Red Genesect (a separate Pokemon from the normal purple Genesect, apparently). Are people really that stupid? Did they not see that all the hackers in the previous contest got removed?
But if so, you (hypothetically) only get one shot at it. After you get caught you're banned from all contests thereafter, so that doesn't really seem worth it to me unless they have multiple 3DS systems and don't mind losing contest access with one of their extras.
Did anyone go for the mega speedup in the Absol comp?
I ranked #2425 in PAL, which scraped in just under the 2500 barrier that I thought was the cutoff for the mega Speedup- But I only got an Absolite?
I can't check the prize notice anymore, but I have found one source online that confirms PAL was 2500. Did I get ripped off? Did anyone HERE get ripped off?
EDIT: Just found another source on Reddit that claims the cutoff is now 2400. AUGH!
Also, I just realized that if you read the blurb about Pokemon Safari in the Check-In Information screen it tells all the possible Pokemon you can catch. Oh well, I still think spoiler tagging is a good idea.
