Let me tell you about an old war buddy of mine. His name? "$$iMURUK"
I remember it clearly, as it was only minutes ago. Our splatoon was stationed in Flounder Heights, and I had found myself into a tight spot. Being a brush specialist, I don't do well in long-range combat, so when I leapt into the trenches to ink a wide swath of turf, I found myself being fired upon by a long-range weapon. My ink was vanishing quickly and I was running out of places to swim, so I struggled in vain against the bullets to get to safety, to no avail.
I closed my eyes, preparing myself for the end.
Just when I thought it was all over, a protective Bubble formed around me. Like a gift from the gods!
And I turned and saw $$iMURUK--a fellow brush user, no less--who'd activated his special in the nick of time to save my life! I was stunned. And alive. I looked his way, spitting out mouthfuls of foul enemy ink and managed to utter a single "Booyah!" in thanks. He turned to me, lowered his voice, and replied, "Booyah."
From that point on, we were best friends. We'd start each match off with twin "Booyah"s and both make a beeline for the center of the stage, climbing structures and littering the ground with ink below, or trying to sneak into the enemy side and squid-jumping (and Beakoning) for each other. We didn't always win, but we put up a heck of a fight.
Eventually, $$iMURUK got shipped back home. I'm not really sure what happened to him, but if he's out there somewhere, reading this message, I'd simply like to let him know this:
Booyah.
Your fellow brush mate, -Bun |
