amiibo is certainly turning out to be a big thing in Nintendo's eyes. Whether or not the rewards for utilizing each amiibo is worthy to you, Nintendo plans to implement all sorts of bonuses. It appears right now that every amiibo is meant to do 'something' in each game though games not featuring certain characters may have more limited uses or lesser-valued ones. We've had plenty of threads on here for amiibo and I'm sure that will continue. Still, I wanted to establish a general discussion thread that doesn't have a specific focus or thought. For days now I have been glancing at pics of the Shovel Knight amiibo and thinking that his hand on his hip looks so dumb. Now I see that I was thinking his leg armor was his hand! NOW it looks much better to me.

I've been done with the chase for a while. I'm still happy to buy them, but with as little effort as possible. You in on Infinity 3.0? I imagine I'll be getting it in a few weeks for the birthday.

So fellas. Word on the street is that the "modern" 30th anniversary 8-bit Mario amiibo will ONLY be available via the big fat Super Mario Maker Wii U bundle. The question is, where do you draw the line for catching 'em all?

I've had it preordered from Japan, but I kind of regret the costly purchase. I don't want them all but yet I haven't seen one I want to turn down yet.if that makes sense. After smash tho, and perhaps the animal crossing line, I want need to get each.

Here in Canada that Mario is available exclusively at Walmart, but not in a bundle.
Of course, people should be buying Mario Maker regardless!

Yeah, but when I say Wii U bundle, I mean including the system itself! Like, a 300 dollar bundle!

There is also the 8-bit Mario amiibo with the game, but that's the classic colors (red and brown-ish) rather than the modern version (red and blue) with the Wii U bundle.

Definitely not getting the Wii U Bunduru, and I won't be importing anything. So I'll miss out on cool Famicom ROB, too. Bummer.

I pre-ordered Mairo Maker from Amazon.ca here in Canada, to the best of my knowledge there isn't an amiibo coming with it. Am I wrong? Please tell me that I am.

Are you aware that we get the EXACT same amiibo as you, box and all? Like, exact exact?

EDIT - What I mean is that you COULD import it from here pretty easily and it'd fit your collection perfectly.

You're not wrong, unfortunately. The one that comes with the amiibo is much pricier considering you probably used the Amazon deal on your preorder. The amiibo will be pretty easy to grab on Friday I would think.

Didn't say that the red and blue Mario is exclusive to the Wii U bundle at launch? I'm expecting it to be a stand alone amiibo later on.

I'm willing to bet it'll be just like the Mario Party bundle. I think it took about two weeks for the Marios to release on their own.

Do animal crossing amiibo cards go on sale the same day as Happy Home Designer? I am interested in buying a few packs of those to see what i get! I am not only getting them for this game, but for whatever future animal crossing games support them.
