Splatoon is Nintendo's unique twist on the shooter genre. Shoot ink on both your friends and environments to win the match! Players can turn into squids and 'swim' through their team's ink color. Players can also use their team's ink color to slow down enemy movement. It's ink or be inked in this chaotic marriage of third person shooters, de Blob, and good ole fashioned paintball.

We really need to get a coordinated game going…

What is everyone's weekend plans? Has this game fizzled out already for all but like three or four of us? who all play at varied times lol

Hasn't fizzled for me! Unfortunately I play way later than most. Likely 10pm and later.

I've been playing a lot of Splatoon lately, but the times at which I play are pretty random. I'm going to lay off the ink this weekend, but I'd be happy to join you guys another time.

Anyway... Tuesday was a disaster for me as at least half of my team decided to conquer areas nowhere near the splat zones and I almost dropped down to a C rank. Yesterday, though, I finally found a group of competent people and now I'm almost back to B-

Looks like it. I hope there's some downside to carrying it too, though. Besides getting the entire opposing team up yer butt.

Introducing…. Rainmaker! In Rainmaker, both teams compete to snag the, uhhh, Rainmaker. Once you’ve got it, the goal is to carry it into the other team’s base!

How’s it work, you ask? As soon as the battle begins, grab onto that Rainmaker! It’s guarded by a shield, though, so you’ll need to bust it out first. Once you snag it, head for the other team’s base. And be quick about it!

If you run out of time or get splatted, the Rainmaker will be dropped and its shield will also reactivate. The Rainmaker is crazy heavy, so you can’t Super Jump while carrying it. Hopefully your teammates will watch your back!

But don’t think the Rainmaker is just some shiny object - it can shoot ink like an Inkzooka. You can even hold to charge the Rainmaker up for an extra-powerful shot! The closer you get to the enemy base while holding the Rainmaker, the lower your goal distance will drop. If you retreat too far while holding the Rainmaker, it’ll explode sooner! If the battle ends without anyone carrying the Rainmaker to the goal, the team with the lowest goal distance will win.

I swear every time I play the game since the big update I am utterly blown away. Gotta be a contender for GOTG.

I've put 120 hours into the game since I got it day 1. It is hard to believe I've put that much time into an online shooter but here I am and I love it.

Rainmaker mode sounds cool to.

I like it! You can sometimes wipe out 3-4 people right away and it's hilariously satisfying. Just remember to still watch your defense while it's active.
