Splatoon is Nintendo's unique twist on the shooter genre. Shoot ink on both your friends and environments to win the match! Players can turn into squids and 'swim' through their team's ink color. Players can also use their team's ink color to slow down enemy movement. It's ink or be inked in this chaotic marriage of third person shooters, de Blob, and good ole fashioned paintball.
I'm not gonna spoil the new track but I will say I love every track from SP and MP.
I love the F-Zero Xesque hard rock MP track as well as all the others. My fave is probably the one that has the voices that sound kinda like Inklings singing while also having some metal style singing in there.
Do the tracks even have names? So far I've just seen then named as Track 1, 2, 3, etc.
The cable company finally fixed whatever was wrong with our pole this morning and for the first time in months my internet seems to be stable (been getting a consistent 300 Mbps dl all day, *knock on wood*), so that means I can finally play Splatoon again (and also finally try Rocket League). Man I'm going to get creamed, I'm still like level 12, I'm sure everyone else is level 1 billion by now.
@Zero Well deserved, best new IP of the generation!
I think they made a mention early on that they never expected it to be this popular. Which is quite great really if it means they can take more chances on new IPs. Simply having had Mario slapped on this wouldn't have had the same effect.
You mean they're really good to use It can easily take out people standing on the tower. If you see it moving, you know someone's on it so even just firing at random can often take someone out.
Inkbrushes don't work so well there, to my chagrin. Especially the Octobrush since the Beakon is much less useful there than bombs (especially Suction Bombs).
Camp Triggerfish is such a fun stage. It has a very unique horizontal layout, and the wooded environment serves as a nice contrast to the urban stages.
Played a bunch of matches tonight with Lou and it's weird how this game still amazes me with just how pure fun it is. Easily my GOTY so far and I don't even think anything else will top it. Really intense stuff between chargers on the Moray Towers though. It becomes quite competitive and stressful when it's a map that can really help tide the battle thanks to good positioning of chargers.
@ploot I liked eating versus sleeping since it seemed pretty random, but at the same time relatable. This thing is just weird, though. Next up: Argon gas versus radon gas! Left nostril versus right nostril!
The weapon I get least at this point has gotta be the charger that charges super fast but has less range. I'm finding it very hard to use. It can paint well sometimes if you've got a groove going but I find it very hard to get kills or defend myself with it. And I do much better with the other chargers.
PS. I don't think I've ever done either, but roasting weenies sounds much. Better. Charred sausage is very nice.
