Splatoon is Nintendo's unique twist on the shooter genre. Shoot ink on both your friends and environments to win the match! Players can turn into squids and 'swim' through their team's ink color. Players can also use their team's ink color to slow down enemy movement. It's ink or be inked in this chaotic marriage of third person shooters, de Blob, and good ole fashioned paintball.
@carlosrox Well, you've got the exact numbers to answer that question in the docs link I posted before. I suppose it would only be a matter of rolling three of the same since the base ability never changes and you can only have three sub slots, which still would be unlikely, but not impossible, I'd say. Given enough Sea Snails and/or cash you could probably pull it off. I've rolled doubles on my rerolls, and have one piece of gear with triples, so I can sort of see it happening. Not sure it's worth going for in the long run. Diminishing returns and all that. Then again, I'm not exactly master of Splatoon stats.
That's usually when I call it quits. I don't get enough proper sleep as it is. But tomorrow I hope to stay on later and play with more Negative Worlders! I miss you all!
Just got on the Splatoon train tonight. I got it for $40 after my Best Buy discount and my $10 credit from pre-ordering Arkham Knight. Loving it so far. Wish Amanda and I could play it together in a different mode, but I guess that's my fault for not researching enough. You'd think we could play through the campaign at least (which is way better than I thought it would be).
Do they have any plans to release any new local co-op modes?
That's a cool-looking stage! It seems like it'd be very tough to make headway towards the enemies' base--high ground is almost always preferable in Splatoon.
@DrFinkelstein Cooooool. Hey, Camp Triggerfish is a stage we have yet to see. It's probably the one I'm most looking forward to. It's on a lake, surrounded by trees and has totem poles. Although I heard we were getting 9 maps total and Moray Towers would take us to 9 (I think) so... what gives, Triggerfish?
@DrFinkelstein WAAAA - don't make me use my brainsies. Around the time of the big Splatoon Direct I swear I heard the number 9 bandied about in conjunction with maps. Maybe there are 9 on top of the 5 we started with, maybe I gots my wires crossed, maybe I dreamed it?
This is the sort of vague confusion I like to share with you lovely people. Sorry.
@TriforceBun Yeah, I think you're correct, 9 DLC stages, 14 in total.
I hope they add the 3rd rotational stage sometime soon like they did for Splatfest. I also hope they shorten the stage rotation time to one hour now there are more stages.
Or at least add in rotation within the rotation... that makes sense! But I mean like we're stuck with Splat Zones for the entire 4 hour so leave the 4 hour stage rotation but like either every hour or maybe 2 hours, switch between Splat Zones and Tower Control too.
@VofEscaflowne Yeah, that'd work. Something to switch it up a little more often. Maybe when the big update happens in August (letting friends choose teams), we can vote on maps.
However, I've decided that I hate Port Mackerel. After being sneak-attacked in one of its flat, unforgiving corridors for the 1,000th time, I shut off the system in anger. That level encourages camping once one team takes the lead, and it's a nightmare to try to push forward if you're a Roller or Inkbrush. Stupid level.
