So, how are you liking this game? I think it's fun. I'm playing it in small doses. I'm on battle 42 of about 159 (for now). I already got the Mew from a special event, too. I haven't captured all the pokemon I have battled. I'm focusing on moving forward and then coming back to catch them all. I AM making exceptions for those pokemon I can actually Mega Evolve.

By the way, how does this game compare to Pokemon Trozei? I haven't played that one.

Manetric caught. 3 Great Balls. Asshole.

Boo I want to level up Groudon in anticipation of the Manectric competition but he sometimes paralyzes Meowth which messes with coin grinding.

@Jargon

I'm going to grind a few more coins, (maybe up to 50K) and then switch over to Snorlax on the weekend. Maybe Victini too, although I'm still inclined to just super effective his ass in an attempt to catch him.
06/25/15, 12:39
Hooray! Caught Victini! Got the super catch thingy which boosted the catch rate to 62%. Still cost me two Great Balls, but it's finally done. Now I can actually use Pokemon I'm trying to raise.

@Shadowlink

Nice. I got Groudon up to Level 5 but will need some more to make him actually worth playing over the other Ground guys.

@Jargon

The top 4 should be Groudon, Donphan, Stunfisk and Marowak.(My levels- 7,8,7,4.) No ground Megas though, so I'm wondering if I should sub one of them for Gengar during the comp. The other factor to consider is skills-What's more useful, Quake or Damage Streak? I've seen talk of Damage Streak, so maybe Gengar , Groudon, Stunfisk and Marowak is the team to go with. 2 DamageStreaks, one Quake, and Gengar's Mega ability.

At least all the Ground types are easy to train via Ampharos- Super effective all.

@Shadowlink

Yea all those guys are maxed out for me except Groudon, for that very reason.

God Ampharos grinding is so tedious. I'm not sure I can be bothered any more. My guys are pretty high as it is.
06/27/15, 16:31
Here's an up to date and even more comprehensive list of Pokemon to train.

I agree that I'm over doing Ampharos stage though. Snorlax is better because it doesn't have the opening ice and his disruptions, while probably harder, aren't as annoying. But still, I prefer just doing Meowth for those Pokemon that allow it. It's too bad you can't like set a Pokemon's power off for grinding purposes if you want to.

I've got 80,000 coins and all the Pokemon/S ranks so I'm pretty much ready to go anyway. I've got to remember that I shouldn't just spend coins willy nilly, though. The fun is trying to beat them without items, not just getting the momentary satisfaction of being 100% caught up.

@Jargon

I'd be using Snorlax except for the whole super-effective thing.

I'll have about 50K coins. I could get more, but...bleh.

I need a new game to play in between. Maybe I should snag another real Pokemon game and head down that rabbit hole again.
06/28/15, 02:09
I've got just short of 59K coins, all but the final 3 Experts caught, and all but 6 of the main stages S ranked. After getting a few more coins I was planning on going back to S-ranking, but since I'll now need some of those coins for the upcoming contest, I'll probably hold off.
06/28/15, 07:33
There's only five for the most recent Pokemon Safari right? Who are they all? I think I've got them but I'd like to be sure. I'm currently just mining coins and gaining exp through Meowth and I have I think all Pokemon caught and relevant S-classes obtained. Just wanting to be sure.

@DrFinkelstein

Yeah, just 5: Electrike, Manectric, Stantler, Darumaka, and Darmanitan.

New competition is up. The good news is it's much easier to qualify for the Mega Stone now. But if you want to get a Mega Speedup as well, you'll probably have to use a Complexity -1 and even that might not be enough.
06/29/15, 09:49
@Jargon

PAL Region- Top 3K for Mega Speedup, Top 10K for Mega Start (meh), top 20K for the stone (neat).

Complexity looks a must for the top tier, but it's doable. I usually wait till near the end then blitz everyone on the last day with items and get into the top 1000. I don't normally drop too far from there. Interesting that the Speedup is considered rarer than the Stone.

What's the cutoffs in NA?

@Shadowlink
.
Same as PAL but double, 40K for stone, 20K for start, 6K for speedup.
06/29/15, 11:05
Got around 9K on my first try no items- Pitiful. (ranked about 1500)

Noticed Attack up is an item option this time. Forked out for an Attack up and a disruption delay (4500 coins).

18,874 for a rank of 346/7137. Much nicer. I think I can cruise there for a bit.

TO THE MEOWTH!

Manectric Competitive Stage
06/29/15 AM - 8,225 points; 4,632th out of 12,453; (Max Mega Lucario, Lvl 9 Donphan, Lvl 6 Stunfisk, Lvl 1 Groudon)
06/29/15 AM - 9,441 points; 2,734th out of 12,553; (switched to Mega Gengar)
06/29/15 AM - 18,814 points; 715th out of 12,610; (did the ShadowLink thing with the Attack Up and Disruption Delay)

I wonder how that will hold. I mean, I'm certainly already getting the stone but the start and speed up would be cool.

First try, no items:
12,710 = 1,618/24,121

I tried two more times and couldn't get back up to that score, so I'm going to hold off for now. I'll wait until a little later in the week to decide whether or not I'm going for the Speed-up.

Shuffle coming to mobile sometime this year.

Good to see this, I might play it more often, as I prefer time waster games on mobile and meaty games on my 3DS.
