Splatoon is Nintendo's unique twist on the shooter genre. Shoot ink on both your friends and environments to win the match! Players can turn into squids and 'swim' through their team's ink color. Players can also use their team's ink color to slow down enemy movement. It's ink or be inked in this chaotic marriage of third person shooters, de Blob, and good ole fashioned paintball.

Last night was rough... I was almost to B rank then lost about 9 matches in a row and plummeted down to C+.

I'm gonna run up to TRU really quick, and then I'll be on Splatoon until my PODCAST DATE with Fink and SageMan.

I broke 1600 a couple times with the Inkbrush.

Wow, that seems high. I didn't get on too great with the inkbrush although I see a lot of people ninja'ing around, swinging them like nunchuks. They can be pretty deadly.

Sprinklers help a lot, especially on moving platforms, high areas, or big spots of enemy ink. Just throw one down in one direction and go in another to maximize coverage! You're not supposed to use them as rollers, though--the rolling function is mostly for travel, but the slashing really gets solid coverage.

Awwwww.

@Guillaume

I wonder what that's about. Random...

Sorry, the previous tweets had more context: simply, when they did the Splatfest in Japan, there was an issue where it took a long time before matches filled out. So they need time to fix it.

Aw, whaaaat? Dang, I was looking forward to this.

That's better than having to deal with a sub-optimal splatfest experience... Whatever it is we do during splatfest haha. I'd rather wait longer for a better experience, rather than be frustrated with the game's matchmaking system.

I'm confused now. What is a Splatfest? I thought the act of voting and playing was the whole event, like in Smash online; pitting players against certain players meant whoever won more...won..?

@Guillaume

Aw damn, that sucks Well at least we still have the new level tonight.

Frustrating night of Splatoon. Started out as a B-, ended up BORDERLINE C+/C. What the F, The Rest Of My Team.

One game I SINGLEHANDEDLY held off all 4 players while my other guys just dicked around. I'm guessing they were dicking around in the final minute / overtime (which, again, I "caused" because I stopped their zones from being controlled, alone, with like 4 seconds on their clock to go), because I didn't see them at all while I sat on the front lines and racking up 16 (SIXTEEN) kills. WITH A ROLLER. It was my proudest Splatoon achievement to date.. Like, if this was actual war, I would've got a prestigious medal and a serious ceremony.

And then, of course, the videogame Gods intervened, and my rating went down the tubes, getting teamed up with the worst players the match had to offer. Routinely ranked 1 or 2 on my team, but lose lose lose lose lose. No thank you.

Earlier today I played in the most lopsided match I've ever seen. We wound up with 87.4% of the map to 4.3%. It was ridiculous.

@Mr_Mustache
I do hate when it starts feeling like no one else on the team is even trying to accomplish anything. I don't mind losing so much, but it's not fun to feel like you're fighting alone.
06/20/15, 23:52
Twice this evening I was on the losing team, but had more points than any of the winners. Having a weird night of it. :p

@Infinitywave

I tried joining you earlier but as my luck would have it you had disappeared when I got in the game. I hate when that happens. Happens a lot to me lol.

I love the new map, Bluefin Depot, aesthetically and mechanically. Having a split central demands some multitasking, and trying to defend your base is a fun challenge as a result of that.

Getting a bit more comfortable using a charger now! Though some maps aren't always the best to use it on, it's quite effective on those where it really works. Very satisfying to pull off a shot with it and hit someone. My best was probably yesterday when all 3 of my charges one after the other hit someone. Three kills in a matter of seconds and to secure the ground I was guarding was so great!

Obviously there are a lot of japanese players on right now but man, so many are using the Dynamo Roller to flick shit at me and then of course the one super sniper on their team. Lots of lag to boot. Can't some of you Negative Worlders get on!? Come on!

UGH! And when someone is online, I wait to join them, and then they disappear!

@DrFinkelstein

I'm jumping online shortly. I'll see you there if you're still waging turf wars!

@VofEscaflowne

It really is satisfying to clear out an area with a few quick shots from a charger. It's my favorite weapon type!

Sorry I missed you, DrFink'. Yeah that happens to me a lot too, you wait patiently to join someone and then they're gone.

Nintendo needs to add a "infinitywave is trying to join you" message, so you might keep playing until a spot frees up. (or that might just make it worse when the person doesn't hang around :p )
