So, how are you liking this game? I think it's fun. I'm playing it in small doses. I'm on battle 42 of about 159 (for now). I already got the Mew from a special event, too. I haven't captured all the pokemon I have battled. I'm focusing on moving forward and then coming back to catch them all. I AM making exceptions for those pokemon I can actually Mega Evolve.

By the way, how does this game compare to Pokemon Trozei? I haven't played that one.

Caught Pinsir today. But I'm starting to feel the beginning of burnout on this game (or maybe it's just the frustration I'm feeling fighting the camera in my DK64 replay bleeding over into the only other thing I'm playing right now). I played the Meowth stage and the Pinsir stage, and then I was done for the day... couldn't even bring myself to spend the other three lives on anything.

I haven't been able to beat Pinsir with any more than 5 moves remaining. So I feel less bad about using 4 (that's right FOUR) great balls before I caught the bastard. So much for the coins I saved during the Banette event. Sigh.

In happier news I did catch Xerneas legit, without a great ball after extensive attempts on Saturday. So that's nice. Mewtwo left, and of course Genesect to unlock, but I'm still 5 S-Ranks short of that. Stupid Timburr.

@Shadowlink

I've been trying to beat Timburr myself. I hate how some Slowbros don't Mega Evolve for some reason. I've come very close, done it in 9 turns, but haven't sealed the deal.

Edit: Actually, I'm not sure why I thought that was close. I guess I have to beat him with 17 or 18 turns remaining, huh? God, that'll be tough. I just did it in 11 and that's the best I've done.

@Jargon I've been trying to beat Timburr myself. I have the follwing Optimized team.

Slowbro Level 7
Azumarill Level 6
Slurpuff Level 6
Swellow Level 6

I'm trying to get them all to level 7 and maybe raise slowbro to level 8. I too hate it that not all Slowbros megaevolve. What is up with that?

Everyone seems to be of the opinion it's a glitch of some sort.

Update is live. Fuck Regirock is toooough.

@Shadowlink

Shit yea he is. I only managed to beat him using a Mega Start and Disruption Delay and still only had one turn left, giving me a mere 5% chance to catch him. Fuck. Disruption Delay was a big waste, not recommended.

Meanwhile, looks like there's potentially a new grinding stage of choice: Snorlax. Seems quite a bit tricker than Ampharos's stage though (especially at the end) so maybe not.

@Jargon

There's a 3000 coin Attack Up item available on Regirock. A tad pricy, but should be effective. I can usually get close to beating him before I run out of turns. With double power I should be laughing.

I want to see what the initial catch rate and catch rate/turn is before I start spending coins though.

As for Snorlax, I can beat him, but that's with a level 9 Mega-evolved Lucario. Grinding with other mons may not be an option just yet. Although maybe If I'm only doing one mon at a time...

Well well well.... ShadowLink was spot on regarding the new stages timing eh? I'm pretty sure he knew this was happening today.

Glad to see new stages. Just tried Regirock and by the time it was over I had about 20% left on him... perhaps if I use the Mega Start as Jargon was saying.

The Team I used on him was

Mega Lucario - lvl 8
Sceptile - lvl 8
Bronzong - lvl 7
Kyogre - lvl 7

Should I change my team up somehow? Jargon, who is your Mega for that stage?

I could go with a Mega Mawile with 86 punch, or Mega Blastoise with only 66 punch... not sure who is most effective.

BTW guys, if you want 5 free Exp 1.5 items, enter 04482045 at the code screen.

@DrFinkelstein

I've been using Mega Blastoise. Maybe I'll try Mawile. I don't have Mega Lucario sadly

Edit: Well, that wasn't great. I wanted to get this guy over with so I used the 3000 coins to up my attack power. Seemed to have bad luck but beat him with 7 turns left. Good for a 17% chance to catch. Foolishly spent a Great Ball and didn't get him. Now I'm down to 2500 coins. Wish I'd remembered to do the Meowth stage both tomes this weekend.

@Jargon

You can grind the main Meowth stage a little bit for coins. With some luck and practice, you can get up to 500 coins per attempt.

Basically a coin appears every time his disruption occurs- One about halfway through, and one just before the end. With a little effort you can line them up and get a row of four or five. Trick is to get the coins aligned *before* beating the stage, but still have enough damage on Meowth to actually finish it and come away with the coin reward.

I was doing it today whilst waiting for the update- I was getting nowhere on my last few S-rank pokes, and I was woefully short of catching Mewtwo, so I figured "Why not?" Got maybe 2-3K coins. If you're really lucky/good you could probably clear 10K a day.

Braixen has me stumped.
05/12/15, 02:00
@Shadowlink

Thanks for the Exp. codes!

Also, 500 coins for Meowth? I've been averaging about 2000 coins every time I play him. I think the highest I've ever done is 3400 coins.

No luck on Regirock for me right now. I've gotten pretty close by using Lucario, Blastoise, and Gengar as my Mega, but I haven't actually managed to beat him yet. I haven't even started on the new stages yet because I've been trying out different strategies on Regirock/grinding on the Ampharos stage.
05/12/15, 02:37
@V_s

He's talking about the regular Meowth stage, not the weekend bonus one.
05/12/15, 02:46
@Jargon

That makes a lot more sense...
05/12/15, 02:58
@Jargon

Blastoise and Milotic. You can get lucky and trigger Stabilise+ which may break the top row of garbage and let new Pokemon through. That's how I beat it.

Beat my way through to Steelix. That seems to be it for this update. Now to get some S-ranks and unlock Genesect.

Also, used the Attack Up and caught Regirock with 8 turns remaining- Still cost me 3 great balls though, so another 10K coins down the drain. More grinding is needed, I need to replenish my coin stocks before the next competition. (I'm sitting on 12 jewels, but they're for an emergency.)
05/12/15, 05:54
@Shadowlink

Yea, one of my Pokemon's specials managed to break it and I beat him, albeit with a C rank. Tough group of Pokemon this update, I only got a couple of S's so far.
05/12/15, 06:15
@Jargon

Actually I found a better way, Keldeo's power is a guranteed break.

+5 moves & Keldeo, easy S-rank.
