So, how are you liking this game? I think it's fun. I'm playing it in small doses. I'm on battle 42 of about 159 (for now). I already got the Mew from a special event, too. I haven't captured all the pokemon I have battled. I'm focusing on moving forward and then coming back to catch them all. I AM making exceptions for those pokemon I can actually Mega Evolve.
By the way, how does this game compare to Pokemon Trozei? I haven't played that one.
I've only not caught the fishy ones, though that was luck because even with low catch rates I got lucky. Keep it up! I wouldn't mind if it changed over a three day cycle but yeah u need more time too.
I just spent my first 5 hearts of the day on the Safari Zone. I got: Spinda (caught), Spinda, Cherubi (caught), Spinda, Spinda.
At least I know that there's more than just one random per day thanks to you. After that second Spinda I probably would have just waited until tomorrow to try again, not knowing any better.
EDIT: Got one Carvahna to show up. I managed to beat it, but couldn't catch it.
I can kick the shit out of Cherubi and Spinda. Heck, one time with Cherubi, I beat it with a single move which ended up generating a 101 match combo.
Caught them both, and managed to fluke a catch of Carvanha. But I've only seen Cherrim once (and failed to catch it.) I haven't seen Sharpedo at all. I've probably played 20-30 times since last night.
Stupid rare Pokemon. I already know I can S rank the others. Stop making me face them.
I saw Sharpedo and finished with 11 moves left. So you're damn right I used two Ultra Balls to catch. Now I'm good to go on that but 5,000 coins poorer.
Any advice for beating Carvanha? I managed to do it once (with a not very effective SlowBro no less) but since then I've had real trouble getting any chains going.
Edit: Just got a Sharpedo myself. Had to use a Great Ball but not bad.
Nope, Carvanha still eludes me. Frustrating because it's rare enough to actually find him, then rare to beat him in four moves, then that's between 5-16% catch rate... so the odds are stacked against me... and everyone else.
I think it was at 32 or 33%, and I failed at that, so I used a Great Ball and caught it at 64/66%. EDIT: Or maybe I've got that backwards. Maybe it was at 16% and then I caught it at 32% with a Great Ball. I don't remember. I think I beat it with two moves remaining.
Heracross is a pretty good choice for Carvanha. My original team for the Safari Zone was Mega Slowbro, Lucario, and Heatran, but I've since swapped out Heatran for Heracross.
I still lose to Carvanha every now and then with this group, but I've also beaten it a number of times too.
I'm not sure I have Heracross? What number is he? I've been using Slowbro, Lucario and Scyther, but I switched to Ampharos because Slowbro is not effective against Carvanha.
Using the bottom right Pokemon to create a T in the middle seems to be the best opening move. From there, I beat him pretty easily but didn't have the luck at 16% that you did.
Got Cherrim in my last set of tries before I went to bed (had to use one great ball), and nabbed Shapedo this morning in my first set of tries. Was all poised to use another great ball there if necessary given how damn rare the stupid thing is, but I beat it with 14 moves left and had about a 35% or so catch rate- Got lucky and didn't need the extra ball.
One great ball across all 5 is pretty good. With the ridiculous number of 30 coin rewards for successful attempts, I think I broke even
