amiibo is certainly turning out to be a big thing in Nintendo's eyes. Whether or not the rewards for utilizing each amiibo is worthy to you, Nintendo plans to implement all sorts of bonuses. It appears right now that every amiibo is meant to do 'something' in each game though games not featuring certain characters may have more limited uses or lesser-valued ones. We've had plenty of threads on here for amiibo and I'm sure that will continue. Still, I wanted to establish a general discussion thread that doesn't have a specific focus or thought. Keep an eye on that TRU page! I know some folks are looking for him! I really wish they would just sell the thing in stores, 1 per person, and not do any of this online crap. While not all people, myself included, are near a TRU, the online thing just is so damaging because of the singular moment occurrence.

So apparently in the last hour Walmart Canada put up wave 4. I didn't know until after my meetings. Sorry I didn't share dudes and dudettes.

Yeah, and Walmart.ca is the only place that's had Jigglypuff. It's rumoured she's Walmart exclusive here in Canada.

I don't know if I can bother with this anymore. I want to, but it's just so ridiculous. I can't be glued to my computer, refreshing constantly just so I don't miss a 5 minute window on some random day.

Totally. I was bummed that I missed the announcement when I was in a meeting. I had meetings from 1:30pm through 4:00pm today so I didn't even feel the vibration. Even if I did, it would have been rude to text and browse in front of my boss.

I would have had no chance to jump online earlier today anyway. Poor Trish is really sick and Finn has recently learned that everything in the house is climbable. He climbs everything ALL THE TIME now.

So very tired.

I forgot to cancel the UK preorders I was able to nab... so I have four Wave 4 amiibo coming from overseas. At least that's more spares to help folks here. I'll post what I have available once I have items for certain, or at least once I can figure out which items I'll have extras of.

Got my Ness in the mail today. Handsome young man. Great sculpt, but a couple of paintjob details could have been better. The second lowest blue stripe on his shirt ends abruptly before his right arm, and his pupils are a bit dilated. The latter is probably a design thing, though. Or maybe he's on coke. Either way I'm still very happy with him. Lovely to finally see some Mother representation on my shelf.

I think Ness is coming to NA in May, but don't quote me on that. The different regions seem to have divided the figurines into different waves for some reason.

May 29th is the US launch of Wave 4. Europe has started receiving theirs as planned.

Add Best Buy Canada to the complete amiibo mess-up pile.

They tweeted about 40 minutes before preorders would go up yesterday and I was lucky enough to be available. Hooray!
As soon as they came up however, there was a site error saying the items wouldn't ship to my address. This happened to A LOT of people.
The Twitter rep from Best Buy assumed everything sold out in a minute, and that's why the error occurred so he/she tweeted that the wave was sold out. Many people grumbled because of how ridiculous that is, and walked away defeated. Myself included.

A few minutes later, people were able to pre-order because the site error stopped happening. Probably due to less load on their system.

Best Buy tweeted "Sorry for thinking they were sold out!" later that night.

AWFUL. This isn't going so well.

If EB doesn't pull through (and rumour is my entire city isn't getting any Robin and Lucina, pre-order or not), then I reeeeally hope that TRU has good stock on the release day (they don't do pre-orders in Canada).
