We're kicking off the Negative World March Madness: Third Party Edition, where our favorite non-Nintendo games go head to head and only one may prevail. The matchups are as follows:

- It was easy to choose Final Fantasy over a dumb Sonic game. Seriously, screw Sonic.

- Choosing between these two Capcom games was really tough. Resident Evil 2 is one of my favorites of all time. But I sided with Mega Man X because I'm far more likely to replay that one over and over. (and I have) Plus the soundtrack is amazing - a true classic that has stood the test of time. Still sad to see Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield's premiere go away, but I think they knew it was coming.

I never played FF6 through... dabbled... but I do love the music and Sonic 2 is the sonic I love. Im gonna go with FF on this.

Mega Man easily beats out Resident Evil 2.

- I don't really have any strong feelings about either game, but it just seems weird for Sonic 3 to make it this far.

- As good as MMX is, RE2 is still one of my favorite games of all time.

Next round will be tough for FF3, but I'm hoping it pulls through. It's as good as third-party games get, IMO.

I wasn't going to bother voting in this round at all because...well look at what's happening. Plus the only game from the four I've played a decent amount of is Sonic. But what the hell.
