So, how are you liking this game? I think it's fun. I'm playing it in small doses. I'm on battle 42 of about 159 (for now). I already got the Mew from a special event, too. I haven't captured all the pokemon I have battled. I'm focusing on moving forward and then coming back to catch them all. I AM making exceptions for those pokemon I can actually Mega Evolve.
By the way, how does this game compare to Pokemon Trozei? I haven't played that one.
Rather perturbed to find out that the PAL territories only got 10k stones instead of the 20k from last time. But I caught the 'required' 'mons for a high score and took a crack anyway. Got about 13k early on, which got me to about 4000 rank. Not bad. That started to drop though so I kept going. Fluked a score of 15500 or so which put me in the top 2k around Wednesday. I dropped again but very slowly-still in the top 6k by Saturday.
Despite all attempts I couldn't touch my score and over the weekend the drop has accelerated. Checked 3 hours before the end, and sure enough I've been bumped out of the winner's circle. Screw this. Trump card time. Complexity -1 played, Disruption Delay played... :
Score: 25,815 Ranking: 250/112783
I've got a big middle finger raised and I'm aiming it at you Europe.
Europe has the smallest range indeed, but weirdly Japan gets 50,000. I want to see how many people in that region compete. So far for us the top earners have to be in the top 8 or 9 percent.
Edit: Sigh. Is it just me or does Ampharos's special power make it much harder to make matches. Frustrating.
Agreed. I've actually Max'd out Slowbro's level, so I used him for a couple of tries and got fairly good scores (his special ability is much easier to combo with, IMO), but it just wasn't enough. I couldn't get new Slowbro icons to respawn fast enough to beat out my Ampharos scores.
Well with 8 minutes to go I still had about a 500 person buffer to keep me in the top 20K. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a way to check it now that time has run out so I guess I'll find out tomorrow whether I hung on.
I think I ended up ranking 1,244 overall (maybe it was 1288... It was 12XX, whatever it was), so I got a stone as well. I caught Groudon (had to use two Great Balls ), and I've beaten the first new stage. (I S-ranked it, but couldn't catch the guy even at 80%!)
Oh well. At the very least, that's one less S-rank I have to do to unlock Mewtwo. I don't know what I'm going to do when the game adds more Expert stages...
EDIT: I spoke too soon. EX21 is now active according to Serebii.net, and it unlocks after S-ranking all 180 normal stages.
Played up to Level 175 and judging by the shadow of Level 180 it looks like we'll be getting another Mega Stone. Not sure which Pokemon though from the silhouette.
