@Jargon

Gotta agree. Deflated balls or no, New England was going to win that game big. I even said to my wife before the game kicked off that New England would win by 30. I was only slightly wrong...it looked like they were playing a game of Madden.

Colts had no chance. I know the media was ready to crown Luck, like they do every time he steps on the field, but that team faced a Bengals team with no offensive weapons and a Broncos team with no heart to get there. Pats were always going to beat them down, they just had to do what they always do because the Colts showed they couldn't stop it.

Holy shit

Even knowing their history, I didn't really think they would be so brazen as to do something like this. The league has got to suspend Belichick for the Super Bowl at the very least. Anything less is a joke.

11 of 12 is hard to overcome, if true.

Any punishment less than suspending Belichek, the OC and DC for the Super Bowl would be a disappointment. They will continue to cheat until a more severe non-monetary punishment is handed down.

@TheOldManFromZelda
I agree. There's no way that this seriously affected the outcome of the game, but they have an established history of cheating and it's going to continue until there's more than a slap on the wrist given to them.

Exactly. What are they going to do, take some Draft Picks away?

THEY'RE IN THE SUPERBOWL, THEY DON'T NEED NEW PLAYERS.

@Zero

It's because she was playing a giant game of Just Dance but you couldn't see it cause it was off-camera.

Mmmm.

Darrell Bevell with what has to be the worst play calling in Super Bowl history.
02/02/15, 05:53
I will never forgive him for depriving me of what would have been another incredibly sweet Patriots postseason loss. I still can't wrap my head around that decision.
02/02/15, 06:19
It'll be interesting to see how they rationalize that call in that situation. You are on the ~1 yard line, clock is ticking down to ~20 seconds, you've got a RB nicknamed "Beast Mode" because he runs over people, AND a timeout in your pocket. To not even attempt to run on second down is mindblowing.

My guess is Lynch did something to him in the offseason, which is why there have been whispers all year that the Seahawks are dropping Lynch after this season. If the rumors are true that he has friction with the coaches, I'm not even sure I'd come back to the team after that.

Yes! The Pats win! Well-deserved, they played the overall better game. Brady showed us exactly why he is greatest of all time, such methodical dissection of the supposed best defense in the league, in that 4th quarter. I do have to say though, that play call at the end was hilariously bad. I also laughed at the penalties they drew after the ball was turned over. Brady MVP despite 2 interceptions, he da man.
02/02/15, 06:59
@anon_mastermind

Despite its popularity, the idea that Brady is the best quarterback of all time is just preposterous. He's asked to do so much less than a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers or Peyton Manning in his prime. Belichick, despite being one of the biggest assholes in history, deserves lots of credit for designing plays that get the most out of what they have at QB, but it's obvious to anyone knowledgeable watching that he just can't do things that other QBs can and, like most QBs, he makes plenty of terrible decisions when under pressure.

Football is an incredibly complicated sport and there is so much that goes into every play, let alone an entire game or season. To just count the amount of championships a quarterback has won and declare him the best based on that is just ridiculous.

Also, the Patriots are cheaters.

Julian should have been MVP. He took those 2 yard passes Brady was giving out all night and turned them into TDs or 10+ yard gains through 5 Seattle defenders.
02/02/15, 07:17
@Jargon
Sorry but I would take Brady over Rodgers or Manning any day. How can you say he's asked to do less, take last night's game how the running game fell apart - Brady pretty much won the game all on his own (with a lot of help of Edelman, I agree @missypissy ). They didn't plan to pass the ball so much, but they had to and Brady got it done, despite 2 INTs. Yeah you can give credit to Belichick (though I would rather credit their offensive coordinator) but then, you can minimize any player's performance that way in the game of football.
02/02/15, 19:50
@anon_mastermind

Then QB must always be MVP, which isn't right. If you look at it from a numbers perspective;

Brady's 6.3 yards-per-attempt puts him 32nd in the league. Above only Bortles and Carr. If you look at his yards per completion, he would rank dead last.

That doesn't seem very MVP.
02/02/15, 20:36
@missypissy
I'm not arguing that he was the season's MVP, actually this was probably one of his worst seasons overall. But he is a winner.
02/02/15, 20:51
@anon_mastermind
Those were his Super Bowl stats. Season wise I'm sure he was better, but if you compare his stats from that one game he was barely better than two rookie QBs on terrible teams.
