@Zero

I understand that. Matthew makes a good point that it's not just money to lose, but you can re-sell it. Either way, are you putting away money now for the 'new' 3DS? That's going to be more than $100 bucks. I'm not trying to be snarky because I can appreciate where a 3DS now is only planning to be replaced by another but I'm just trying to be helpful here.

Anyway, I hope you can join us playing Smash Bros on 3DS. If not though, there's always the Wii U maybe.

Regardless I hope you do step away from this GamerGate stuff. It can't be enriching your life in any way... or so I assume. and I don't mean to make an ass out of u and me. :-P

Know what is enriching? Bustin' skulls with Mega Man in the Smash demo (available tomorrow at 9 AM)!

@TriforceBun Tempting. I dunno.

Hmm. I guess it wouldn't hurt to have 2 3DS laying around, could keep one at Shirley's and one at my new apartment.

BUT I SHOULDN'T BE BLOWING MONEY GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

@DrFinkelstein "Afford" is a relative concept to me. Like, I'm never (ok fine, rarely) at a point where I don't have a few thousand dollars laying around as a buffer. But I also have like... tons of undone dental work and such I just ignore because I don't have THAT much money. And I should probably get another car someday. And yada yada. So, when the new 3DS comes around, I will have the cash for sure. It's just a matter of what I am not buying / putting off / etc. every time I spend money.

@Zero

Us gamers don't blow money, we blow NES carts!

@Zero

Of course the problem with that is that your digital games can only be on one of them. Fiendish Nintendo.
09/19/14, 05:56
@Jargon Well I'd still primarily use the "new 3DS" but it might be nice to have another around. For multi. Shirley could use it too when she gets into one of her video game feelings.

In other news, my brother wrote something for his blog calling the phenomenon "hot garbage" and has gotten tons of hate emails. This is the most amazing one:

Unreal.

My stupid parody account on twitter has been having a field day with this whole thing.

@Jargon Hang out on Twitter and it gets even more unreal how quickly some of the same people who post that kind of stuff will jump into OMG ANITA IS A PROFESSIONAL VICTIM SHE PROBABLY CALLED IN HER OWN BOMB THREATS blah blah blah.

It's insane.

@pokepal148 I don't get it. Is this some Mass Effect reference?!

Some of these images. Oh man.

@Zero

I'm confused.

Why does the Reverend character in the second strip look kinda like you?
10/23/14, 09:54
Mere coincidence.

...probably.

Well I've been reading more articles about GG than I care to admit, but this video is a pretty good explanation of the phenomenon and a great primer on critical thinking at the same time.

That talking milk carton knows its shit. Brilliant. Thanks for the linkage.

@Guillaume

Pretty great video.

I think it's time for me to download a Firefox add-on for Twitter and block the words "GamerGate" and "harassment" from my feed though. Which is a super-privileged thing to do, but I don't honestly believe that I'm going to make too many people's lives better by tweeting.
