The latest entry in Nintendo's famous adventure series, The Legend of Zelda, is just about upon us! This game takes place in the same "world" as the classic SNES game, A Link To The Past, following a new Link on a new adventure through Hyrule, and an alternate kingdom, Lorule.
Time to grab the Master Sword once again, adventure fans. The world needs a hero, will you answer the call?
I just beat the Thieves Hideout, that was a pretty well-designed dungeon. I love how compact the dungeons are, but filled to the brim with gameplay opportunities.
@nate38 I've been playing mostly in 3D, too. I have noticed a bit of frame rate drops on screen transitions, occasionally, but for the most part it's a rock-solid 60fps in 3D. Mario Kart 7 is another game I only play in 3D - same deal, 60fps locked in 3D.
And we're done here! Collected over 22,000 Rupees and didn't die once (thanks to Faeries in bottles). Got everything I possibly could...save for three items. No idea what they were?
Just beat the first dungeon. Oh my this game is good. The music, the visuals (which I hated in the trailers, but it is much better in motion), the controls the everything. Gosh this is gonna be a great ride.
I just spent an hour clearing out all my Streetpasses from PAX East. Lots of fun! Trying to get all the medals definitely kept it interesting. I got 38 out of 50.
The sad thing is, PAX is the only time I've gotten a single Streetpass for this game, so I guess I'll never get to collect all the medals.
I got 20, which is the max. I would have probably gotten 100+ otherwise. I think I did a very good job collecting medals, considering.
Is there a way to pull up the list of medals you have/need? I couldn't figure that out and just read what I could as they scrolled by as I unlocked stuff. I know I need the bee ones since I kept trying for those to no avail.
I think I've only had two in game Dark Link fights. How do I get them to happen more?
I think you can talk to the Old man and check your records there. That will bring up the list of challenges.
The bee one is tricky becuase the bee can be killed. Best to take on a weak opponent (3 hearts) and release the bee when your opponent is close to death. Also use the Golden Bee and pick up both with the same challenge.
As for the Dark Link fights, I think they're simply timed. Play the game a bunch and they appear.
A new Shadow Link will appear for every 5 hours of gameplay time you have. So just leave your game on for a while (unpaused and with Link in a safe place), and come back after a while to get a new one.
I still need the "Defeat 20 Shadow Links" and "Use Ravio's Bracelet" medals before I have them all. I didn't realize that none of the arenas have walls in them until after I had already fought a Shadow Link in one of the only two arenas in which you can create a wall... (And I've never been able to find a match in one of those two arenas since.)
I beat it a month or so ago (I got it during the smashing sale), and it was a ton of fun! I strongly dislike Link to the Past, but this game seemed to fix the things I disliked about that game. So much so that I thoroughly enjoyed it and it is one of the best games I've played in quite some time. Great stuff!
Still my favorite Zelda, still really hoping for a followup in this style that has its own world/items/enemies rather than lifting most of them from LTTP.
