Welcome to the official discussion thread for Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U!

Through all the stories and all the timelines found in the Zelda series... nobody saw this coming. Koei Tecmo and Nintendo team up to take the Dynasty Warriors formula, toss in a lot of Zelda-franchise fan service, and blend that stuff together in a funky mish-mash of Zelda lore that only the Wind Fish could dream up. That game is called Hyrule Warriors.

I was admittedly hesitant on this title upon first announcement. I had no idea what the Dynasty Warriors franchise was all about. I knew I loved Zelda. It wasn't until the excellent Nintendo Direct (embedded below) which sold me on the idea. I'm seeing a lot of reviews, which started coming in today, and they seem to agree that this isn't much of a Zelda game. I have to point out, the name borrows the Warriors from Dynasty Warriors and not Zelda. This alone helps me see what Koei Tecmo and Nintendo were aiming for. This isn't going to be a Zelda main-line game nor is it striving to be. For what it's goals are, and for what Nintendo has contributed to it, I'm pretty excited myself and now there's less than 10 days remaining. The game releases on September 26th, 2014.

Fun Facts
1.) Sends Link and 12 other playable characters from various Zelda universes into other universes. Mixing things up!
2.) Loaded with various locales, enemies, bosses, items, and music from throughout the Legend of Zelda series.
3.) Series offers plenty of DLC options (detailed below).
4.) Tons of combos and special moves for each character.
5.) 2-player Co-Op (though I hear it's pretty hard on the Wii U processing)
6.) Unique 'Adventure Mode' taking players back into the NES' The Legend of Zelda for a mix of challenges and adventure! (at least on the map)

Lemme guess. A boss rush mode! Exciting! And... probably a mode where you fight bosses and can't heal.

And it's great to use the game's unlockable illustrations as a Miiverse profile header image. They don't always look great but it's a nice option when they sort of do

There we go

I really wish they went into details about what this stuff unlocks...

CONGRATS! Didn't play last night, but I'm thinking I'll put in some solid time tonight. Won't be getting all Golds, though!

Why is this amiibo stuff such a secret? I understand the announcement lacking some details, but these things are available for purchase...

@VofEscaflowne

Weird. That page doesn't exist anymore.. Which Amiibo was it, Link? Someone new?

Oh man.. a Cia Amiibo would be AWESOME.

@VofEscaflowne

Does the Master Quest map play by the rules of the 2nd Quest in the NES Zelda, because that's what I figured / HOPED FOR. I was going to learn the layout and appropriate places to bomb/burn through this so I could finally beat it!

@Mr_Mustache

Huh, I wonder why they deleted the tweet, though it did have a typo in it haha. It was the Link amiibo though.

As for the Master Quest, I really have no clue what the differences are in the NES Zelda. All I know is that I cheated once to know where to burn a bush by checking the regular Adventure Mode map. I did it once, I'm not gonna go hunt down compasses every single time

@VofEscaflowne

You didn't notice any different squares? I think I'll know once I get in there; if its EXACTLY the same though and NOT the MASTER QUEST from the NES game, holy cow is that a missed opportunity.

@Mr_Mustache

Well I didn't play it much so there may be differences that I haven't paid attention to. The map layout really has no importance anyway so I don't really look where I'm going. I just do what I can do.

Well it took a while but I've obtained all original 100 Gold Skultulas!
10/21/14, 21:27
@VofEscaflowne

Congratulations! You make us all look like shit!

I haven't tried really for Skulltulas but I really should go back. I want to know what these silly images are all about, lol.

@DrFinkelstein

I put them all up on Miiverse haha. I'm actually using one as my wallpaper! If anyone wants it, check here. It's actually very nice.

The horse is so dang good.

Seriously the mission for the Lv 3 fire rod is a joke.
10/25/14, 05:49
Man agitha is annoying to fight in adventure mode. Seriously, takes forever.

Also I really like having to reset the mission because the randomly placed manhandla stalks decided to have a party on the other side of the map to where everything else is.

Currently 30 seconds over the A rank limit for ganondorf's lvl 3 sword setup.

edit: got it.

I like it conceptually, but it makes the camera freak out in my game. Like, the constant forward movement gets everything all herky-jerky, especially when I'm near a wall. I can't do it, it practically gives me motion-sickness. What am I doing wring?

@TriforceBun idk, maybe your tv settings are messing with you (I'm on the gamepad so...)
10/27/14, 00:38
@pokepal148

I don't think the TV settings would result in in-game camera issues. I've noticed this a lot though when attacking where the camera unnecessarily jumps or jitters around and it is very annoying and distracting at times.

Oh that, yeah I got used to that in like 5 minutes.

I noticed since the update (although maybe this is something that always happened and i'm just noticing it now) that on those capture enemy keeps missions, taking a certain keep doesn't prevent the enemy from spawning some powerful enemies there.

I think I'm going to have to cave and do some Training Dojo stuff. I've beaten the Legend Mode (no DLC missions yet), just Skulltulas and a few Heart Pieces await me there. I'm on the top row of the Adventure Mode, but I've just been getting SQUASHED lately. I mean, I could probably benefit to get everyone up to Lv50 at least. I think Link is 51, but some people are still like 37. And my DLC characters are 1.
10/31/14, 07:48
Any big updates anywhere? I've REALLY fallen off of this game with Bayonetta sopping up all the time.

I want to get back, at least a few times a week. You guys are a bit part of that though!

Is anyone unapologetic when it comes to using the Training Dojo? It feels like a cheater's way out to me.
