i don't think I've ever posted in this thread, except for during the NFL Draft, because I'm a stressed out basket case on Sundays (and a Utah Jazz fan, so...). But today's loss for the Chargers just hurts too much to keep it bottled up to myself. Man, that hurt. I will say, though, that we deserved to lose with the way our D played in the 2nd half. We made Alex Smith look unstoppable.

With the Broncos coming up (IN Denver) on TNF, the Chargers' fate could be decided on 2 consecutive division games, in the middle of the season, in the span of 4 days. I don't think my heart can take it.

...That said, I feel for Seahawks fans. The way they lost... to the Rams? That's gotta hurt worse then having a 5-2 record with a long bye week coming up like the Bolts have.

Once again, Rams beat us on special teams. Think it was two years ago they did the fake field goal that beat us as well. Really, really not sure how everyone ran right when the punter kicked left...do they not talk about it in the huddle or look at where the kicker is aiming (since I know he usually aims right). Wilson is like JJ Watt. Tries to put the team on his back, team fails him. Maybe next life he'll learn to QB, RB, and do special teams.

Seahawks dug themselves a 18-point deficit and almost came back. Refs made an awful call at the end with the fumble and that was that.

It's great the Seahawks are a 2nd half team, but sleeping through most of the first half and putting on a heroic comeback effort in the 2nd half isn't going to work when you're the Super Bowl champs.

Watching the 49ers get absolutely shredded by the Broncos on SNF made the Seahawks losing somewhat bearable.

I guess no one wants to talk about the World Series?

@EagleC83

Tonight's game was superb! I'm kinda leaning towards the royals, but don't mind if the giants win, either. I just hope the rest of the games are like game 3, and not 1 or 2.
10/25/14, 07:11
Royals must win. There is no other option.
10/25/14, 07:25
I would generally root for the Royals (tend to prefer the teams that haven't been there/haven't won in a while), but I actually know Tim Hudson (Giants pitcher) personally from years back, so I'm rooting for him to finally get a ring. Not looking great so far, but still some baseball to play tonight.
10/26/14, 04:21
This World Series stinks. Only 1 competitive game so far. Boring. Booooooo!

Anyone getting up EARLY for some FOOTBALL? 9:30a! I guess thats how those West Coasters feel all the time.
I watched NASCAR at 6am in Hawaii. It was weeeird, haha.

@EagleC83

Pfft, EVERYONE knows Tim Hudson!

No, haha, seriously; I think he came through Rochester (Red Wings) and has some ties here, too. How do you know him?

(OR MAYBE I'M THINKING OF SOMEONE ELSE)

@Mr_Mustache

Haha, yeah, I read my post and was like, well, that comes off as name dropping. You actually aren't too far off. Back when he was in college he played in a summer league in upstate New York. My relatives hosted him that summer. He's a good guy. Weird to hear everyone talk about him like he's an old man now though.
10/26/14, 20:41
Well, look like we may be headed to a game 7, which is great, but boy, has it been a weird World Series. So many uneven games. A few were competitive for a while before things got out of hand, but only one was a great game start to finish. I really hope tomorrow's game is spectacular.
10/29/14, 05:00
LET'S GO ROYALS!
10/30/14, 00:56
I know I'm the only one who cares about the NBA, but that was some bullshit in the Cavs-Bulls game.

@Jargon

What happened? I heard someone has a broken wrist or something? Did it happen then?
11/01/14, 08:38
@Mr_Mustache

Derrick Rose hurt himself. Again. The guy unfortunately seems to have become a injury magnet.
11/01/14, 15:51

What a close game! Behind by three till the last four or so minutes in the fourth quarter... and the Lions come back for the win!

Now essentially tied in a three-way tie for best record in the league right now. Cardinals have a 7-1 but they're still playing the Rams so we wont know if they lose (and thus are indeed three-way-tied with the Lions) at 7-2 or if they'll actually make it more. Still, good on the Detroit Lions who haven't seen 7-2 since 1993. Whoa!
11/10/14, 00:20
Championship Race is on right now. The goal is simple: finish best among the eligible drivers.

No points to worry about, no confusing scenarios. You control your own destiny.

And whoever wins will be a 1st-time Champion. How cool is that?

Gross Alert!!!

Welp, Kevin Harvick is your 2014 Sprint Cup Champion, but he's about 8 years later than people expected him to do it. He was the cover guy on EA's 2006 game, and ever since he inherited Dale Earnhardt's #3 (#29 the next week after The Intimidator's death) and won the very next race people have been expecting big things. He's been in the hunt a lot of the time, but he officially got it this year.

All in all, I thought the new system worked out well, keeping it exciting and tense each and every week. For an organization that has been struggling for years to keep up early season football, I think they delivered well enough, and found a neat little wrinkle that is fair yet unpredictable.

@Koovaps

I saw that happened, about to look at the picture.. Are you watching The Ultimate Fighter at all? Round 2 of their tourney starts this week, and it looks to be pretty wild. I couldn't stand Felice from the first second I saw her, and she seems to continue her annoying ways this week. They do those staredown things, and at one point she blows a bubble (gum) right into the face of the girl she's supposed to fight. Holy crap..
