Nintendo's favorite fighter franchise makes its first foray into the handheld world. Here is the place to post your impressions and discuss your favorite modes, characters, strategies and anything else related to Sakurai's baby.
Feels strange to say this, but...I feel like I'm "done" with this version already. Like, I don't have the urge to fire it up at all.
I'm, like, the exact opposite. Can't get enough of this nonsense, and am excited to do it all over again next month!
I find that "discovering" a character can definitely help boost the play value. You know, someone that just suddenly clicks for you. I've recently started using my good pal Wario again (after he gave me a lot of good memories in Brawl), and he's great.
I'm really curious to see what is going to be unique about the Wii U version. Thankfully I didn't get the 3DS version so I'll be going in fresh as far as playing as everyone is concerned.
I've been going through the roster, playing 100-Man Smash / Smash Run / Classic / All-Star with each character, to unlock those achievements. It gives me a good 30 minutes or so to introduce myself to each character and keeps me from getting fatigued by any one of the modes. I'm down to nine characters left.
Also, weren't coins earned in the demo supposed to transfer over to the full game? Did that ever get confirmed? I've got a lot of coins in the demo I could definitely use to purchase some trophies, now that most of the ones I don't have cost 1500 coins or more...
@TriforceBun Good tip! I did not know that was tucked away in Sakurai's (Wife's) Menu Labyrinth.
This game is still consuming my soul, btw. Unlocked all of the characters a couple of days ago. Some of the unlockable guys are super fun. Bowser Jr. is AWESOME.
And, even with the pause trick, getting all of the moves is going to take a WHILE. Normally, that might annoy me, but I feel like the core game is rewarding and varied enough to keep me engaged. You win, Sakurai! I'll try everybody!
Is it just me or does online seem to work better when your 3DS is plugged in? I've been playing online primarily on my couch and whenever its not plugged in my matches tend to lag more. Maybe I'm just nuts...
This is probably a dumb question I should know the answer to, but where does the save data save? To the system or the memory card? Because I'm playing on a borrowed system here and I'm not sure I want to waste a bunch of time unlocking stuff just to have to do it all over again...
All challenges complete! (I hammered a few of the more time-consuming ones, but still). I wonder if there's an easy way to farm trophies and custom moves and equipment like the good old Trophy Factory custom stage in Brawl...
How did you go about getting 20 KO's in a 3 minute Smash match? I tried my best but only got 11. I tried tweaking the rules and made it easier for me to KO opponents. The game didn't give me credit for the challenge even though I had 24 KO's. Maybe you have to use the default rules set.
