I've been trying to post my thoughts after at least one person does and also before I head to bed the night I post.... without trying it seems I've got the same feelings as Jargon. Matched perfectly.

1.) I like both levels but Mario Circuit looks so good and plays really well. I like trapping folks under the track.
2.) Both of these are pretty good too but Dream Land just wins it for me. My favorite Kirby stage probably.
3.) Peach's Castle was my first stage and it's still memorable. That damn bumper in the center!
4.) Big Blue is probably my favorite F-Zero stage. Poke Floats is kind of neat but doesn't make too much sense either.

5.) Delfino Plaza is an under-used locale and I was happy to see Super Mario Sunshine represented. Great for a 'swoop stage'.
6.) This was pretty hard actually. I love the serenity of Distant Planet and I'd love to see a new Pikmin stage... but the classic Pokemon Stage is still tons of fun. I love the 'Random Crazy-ass Pokemon' popping out.
7.) Pirate Ship!!! Probably my favorite level in the series. I just love fighting here. The tornado. The ocean. Hell yeah.
8.) So so much could beat New Pork City. Congo Jungle is actually a really solid and classic Donkey Kong stage though so it wasn't even that bad of a decision. I guess New Pork City is kind of playable but it's like Temple without the actually useful fighting surfaces.

Mario Circuit is like Mute City but boring. Venom has a weird but fun layout, and strange quirks. Like when the Great Fox is going through a canyon, you can actually get bounced off the canyon walls instead of getting KO'd. I always thought that was cool.

Kingdom is the best retro SMB stage, but Green Greens edges it out. Neither really thrills me, though.

Never really liked Distant Planet. Saffron City is the other N64 stage I always want to see return.

I like the ship layout and various dangers, but I have no love for Brawl's seldom-used swimming mechanic. Dream Land is inoffensive.

Congo Jungle was a fine stage. New Pork City was just awful.

You're right, there are a ton of N64 stages. I wish those had been spread out a little but when I randomized it, I made sure just to do it the one time so that I didn't just subconsciously randomize till I was happy. It's how the chips laid. Sad only 1 N64 level can win this bracket, if any...

1. Not a fan of either, so I'll go with Venom.
2. I like both but I dig those retro Mario stages.
3. Peach's Castle could use a few tweaks but still a fun stage.
4. Don't like either much but Big Blue is slightly more interesting because of the track.

5. Delfino Plaza would be better if they just chose one location on the plaza and made a good stage out of it. Sector Z's pretty big but still fun.
6. Gotta love dunking opponents in between those buildings in Saffron City.
7. Since Dream Land is yet another Battlefield layout, I'll go ahead and give this one to Pirate Ship.
8. New Pork City doesn't even deserve a pity vote.

There was something sloppy about Venom. I liked the idea, but not the execution.
Green Greens is classic!
Lylat Cruise is basically Final Destination, but with pretty stuff happening in the background. Not too shabby, but Peach's Castle wins.
Big Blue is one of the few moving stages I enjoy.
I LOVE Delphino Plaza, but Sector Z is just perfect.
Saffron City is one of my all-time favourite Smash stages. Distant Planet didn't have a chance.

1. Pretty close call. Ultimately, Venom feels a little too segregated, and I think a Mario Kart stage is a good idea.

2. Another pretty close one, but I prefer the N64's classic stage. (that said, I prefer the N64 Green Greens too...)

3. Lylat Cruise is a neat level. Lots of eye candy but still fun to fight on, much like Delfino.

4. Big Blue was quite the spectacle at the time.

5. I love Delfino. Sector Z is a good one too, but Corneria improved on it.

6. Distant Planet always had a weird layout to me, like most of the level was on the left side of the screen. Saffron City is one of the N64's best stages, IMO.

7. Love that Pirate Ship! It might be up there with Corneria as my all-time favorite Smash stage. Beautiful, great music, fun as heck to fight on. Just terrific.

8. I hate to say it (as a huge Mother 3 fan), but NPC was a sloppy letdown. Congo Jungle ain't bad.
