I was expecting them to be $9.99 at most. I wasn't expecting $12.99. I was honestly hoping for $4.99, near the Pokemon figures that also have NFC compatibility. But, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt to see them in person and gauge the quality plus, I'd like to know all that they are able to do, before I give final judgment on the price.

Seems fair for the figurine collector's market.

The paint job on them looks nicely detailed.

No, it's a fair price. At that price, I would buy several even if they didn't offer game functionality.

They seem pretty well made and reasonably priced. I just hope they don't force us to buy too many to unlock game content.

They don't seem overly expensive. But I'm not $12.99 interested yet, that's for sure.

@carlosrox any time and effort they put towards amiibo could go to something i'd care about.

Well, again, when Nintendo fails for some unknown reason they have to resort to this. Blame everyone who didn't buy an awesome system with awesome games, like I do.

That's basically my take. Sure if you want to collect all of them, it'll set you back some. But that just reminds me of back when I was a kid and you wanted to collect all the Transformers in a set so you could put them together to make the cool giant robot. That was expensive too.

If the quality of the figure is decent, then buying one or two of my favourite characters isn't so bad.
