Negative World's National Game "Shapes of Gray" Coming To The Only Console That Matters

Put down that hookah, you hipster, because there's a brand new indie-darling video game that’s about to break open the door of your downtown studio apartment and make you forget about your Atoms For Peace records and artisanal toast: Negative World can now report that "Shapes of Gray" is heading to the Wii U and you bet your floppy Hitler haircut and neon plastic glasses you're going to be downloading that game on launch day like the rest of Negative World.

Seriously, I’m going to turn on my Wii U on launch day and write down the names of everyone who isn’t playing Shapes of Gray. And then I’m coming to their houses with a baseball bat*.

*all threats of personal violence are ironic. I mean, “ironic”. I mean, ironic.

Man, it's going to be so fun! Tell all your friends about it. Shapes of Gray is coming to the console it always belonged on. Pimp this game like crazy. Pimp the Wii U first, if necessary.

Indie developer/professional awesome guy Secret_Tunnel says, "The Wii U version will be expanded upon quite a bit with new modes, levels, unlockables, and perhaps a few other secrets... more info on that in the next few weeks. But obviously there'll be both Gamepad off-TV play and Miiverse support. The game should be out very early in 2015.”

You know what that means. Keep it locked to Negative World for more news!

If you’re unfamiliar with the project, here’s the trailer for the PC version of Shapes of Gray (that you should buy right now in anticipation of buying the awesome Wii U version later):

With audio by Negative World site administrator and erstwhile guy-who-teaches-things-to-kids Zero. And my ears tell me it's good! Really good! Who’d have thought?!

Still not convinced? Oh, you’re one of those types. I get it. Check out this celebrity endorsement:

Ok, ok, ok.

You don't need the song and dance. You just want to know why you, a Wii U gamer, should be interested in Shapes of Gray coming to the Wii U. I can hear you now. You're chanting "Cut the crap," right outside my window. Well, somebody is.

All right. If I can be serious for just a moment…

…the guy who made this game is the real deal - an indie developer doing it for the love of gaming, the love of creating, and for the love of staring at lines and lines of code. And this particular game, which is based on crazy old oscilloscope games or something wackybananas like that, is the kind of thing everyone around here ought to support, either with their money, kudos or respect.

But scientists have known for over a year that Secret_Tunnel can spend money more easily than he can spend kudos or respect. I hear he even takes Bitcoin, but that might just be a vicious rumor.

Also, just look at it. That looks like an entertaining good time.

In short: Buy this game. It's fun.

Simple as that.

I knew you'd grump about the title of the thread, but I didn't know you'd be so quick and efficient.

Diane didn't really sell it, sorry.

Maybe if it was the sort of game I could believe Marva would enjoy. Maybe then I'd be interested.
