Wii U or 3DS? I'm still undecided.

@HinphI was totally thinking about Super Shovel Knight today. Make it more like Mega Man X. Dashing. Faster. 16-bittier.

Also yes I'm pretty sure you can rock headphones through the Gamepad like any game that has the audio coming out the Gamepad.

@GameDadGrant

Plug headphones into the GamePad.

@VofEscaflowne

Did not realize there was an audio out on the GamePad. Or I totally forgot. Huh.

Well. Cool!

@GameDadGrant It's not as loud as I'd like, though.

Went with Wii U. It's nice so far.

I like the idea of Miiverse help built in. I wonder why it's not there for 3DS.

Look in my eyes and tell me which version I'm buying.

PC because we cannot buy it on console in Australia.

Why is it not available for consoles in Australia?

@sirmastersephiroth
Classicification costs in Australia are super high and a lot of indies cannot afford to release on consoles. There are also other issues that can stop them from releasing. It took us months to get Runner 2 on Wii U.

That was a feature that the Wii U had built-in to work with Miiverse. The whole OS was designed for Miiverse to be able to interact with games from day one. The 3DS version of Miiverse however, wasn't released until LOOOONG after the system was out, and had to be patched in (read: tacked on). As a result, some of the functionality of Miiverse isn't available on 3DS.

There still is a Shovel Knight Community on the 3DS Miiverse though, so at least it's not completely "non-sync'd" with Nintendo's online social network.

@GameDadGrant

That's what I figured. After watching the trailer on both platforms, I think I'm leaning towards the Wii U version so I can use my classic controller. I think that'll feel the best for me.

@DrFinkelstein

Hail, sir knight! Art thou most serious? Perhaps thou art too cowardly to match my steel upon the StreetPass battlefield?!?

There's just something that feels right about playing a Mega Man type game on a TV. Classic.

@Xbob42

True enough. I still want it though. :P

After thinking through it, I've decided to go with the 3DS version.

For one, I'll be travelling this weekend and I need something fun for my limited downtime. The second reason is that the Steam sale and Mario Kart have been keeping me in glorious television gaming nirvana, and my 3DS looks lonely.

Oh, so do I, if half my 2D games looked anywhere near as good as Dust: An Elysian Tail I'd be full of joy. But alas, it is not meant to be!

I backed Shovel Knight on Kickstarter awhile ago, and selected to get the PC version when it finished development. I have it now, but unfortunately my Super NES to USB adapter stopped being compatible with my computer when I upgraded from Windows 7 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit D:

@X-pert74

Whoa. You changed your icon! You were rocking your Saotome Ranma one for years...! End of an era.
