Kansas night race starts on FOX in a few minutes, should be a good one.

Anyone catch any of the Draft? I still have Round 7 to watch.

The LA Clippers have a buyer: Steve Ballmer. I actually have an early look at his introductory press conference.

Paying 2 Billion dollars for a meaningless game we invented and then gave great weight to is insane to me. You know how much the world could be changed for 2 Billion dollars? Bah, there I go with the same judgmental attitude that always springs up when I hear about huge sums of money in sports....

@-JKR-
You need to refocus that anger back at Balmer fucking Seattle out of a NBA team. A lot of good could have be done!

Houston Astros are currently on a rampage. This Springer kid has 7 HRs in 7 games (which is a nice way of saying he's only hit home runs in 6 games, but since he's hit 7 total we make it seem like he's hit 1 each day). Still, pretty impressive showing for the team so far. Still in the basement, but at least they are showing more promise than they have in recent years.

@missypissy

Hopefully for their sake it isn't a flash in the pan, but an actual reemergence. Watching the Pirates this year, it's on the fence in that regard. Last year could have just been an "Everything went right" kind of thing, and we could possibly have another 20 straight years of losing ahead of us. Time will tell.

Whatever the case, enjoy it while it lasts.

OH! What a crazy start to the World Cup! Own-goal Brazil, but they came back to equalize. Halftime now. Anyone else watching?
06/12/14, 23:57
Those damn LA Kings won the Stanley Cup again, 4 games to 1.

Last night's clincher was in double overtime, which was very exciting. This is my 20th year in a row seeing the Cup awarded.

@-JKR-

I think getting Donald Sterling out of sports is for the greater good. I've known the guy was a major asshole for years. Though apparently not enough of one for the NAACP (what a joke of an organization itself) to give him another lifetime achievement award before this.

Also go Spurs. Just one more game to go.

@-JKR-

I'll be glued to the World Cup. I'm fairly sure @Hammerlord is from Brazil, would love to hear what the vibe is like down there.

How 'bout that decimation of the Champions yesterday? The Dutch were on fire!

England's 1st game in 30 minutes - gotta root for my hapless neighbours.

Anyone else as happy as I am that the Spurs beat the Heat last night? Man, what a team. Team. Not three superstars and a bunch of random roleplayers, a team.
06/16/14, 23:19
@ludist210

I don't like basketball, but I was thrilled, ha ha.

USA on the telly today! I hope we can get out of this Group of Death. If not, the next four years will be a loooooong wait.

Really saddened by Tony Gwynn's passing. One of my favorite players who wasn't a Brave.
06/17/14, 01:11
@chrisbg99

Yeah, that was a bummer. I work with a Padres fan. I wanted to send my condolences but I didn't want to break the news to him.. Either way, haven't seen him.

Tony Gwynn always seemed like a class act. The fact that I'm describing him that way says a lot about the content of character of many players nowadays across the Big 4.
06/17/14, 01:26
@chrisbg99
Yeah, also one of my all-time favorites. RIP.
06/17/14, 01:37
I'm glad Tim Duncan won another one. No-one talks about that guy, but he's a damn fine player and will go down as one of the greats. He just doesn't speak out all the time and has quietly amassed 5 titles. All the while the media is putting all the attention on Lebron not winning his 3 title even though he was the only one who showed up in the finals.
06/17/14, 01:57
Yeah I'm a fan of Tim Duncan and the Spurs. I just like how the team goes about its business. I think for the Spurs to get any true recognition they'd have to win another in succession rather than this one every so often. But I always enjoy watching people bemoan their Finals appearances because they are "boring". If being "boring" brings them titles then it means it is a good strategy.

Also speaking of Duncan, when he won his first title in '99, Kawhi Leonard was only 7 years old.
06/17/14, 03:41
What an amazing game of soccer!! So tense, and USA won so it was a good time in the end. :)

Can't wait for the next match!

Spain is out of the World Cup! Egads!!

Boy, their performance was horrendous. They never made it past midfield 90% of the game! Blah!
