Welcome to the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate thread! This will be our headquarters for coordinating our Hunts, sharing stories of war, and helpful hints for our brothers-in-arms, compatriots, friends, and neighbors. Please be mindful of folks' different definitions of "spoilers," and remember that not EVERYBODY played Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii, though everybody totally should've.


The "burden" of running this thread has been placed upon me but...I can't do it alone. I will lean on Maxi and others to help with the heavy lifting occasionally, both in planning things and also in feeding this thread. Please keep it bumped (once we get going). If you could, let us know if you're getting this game, WHEN you're getting this game, and what your aspirations are so we can get us situated in groups with likeminded people. Do you want to barely play this game? Is this going to be your new #1? The most fun with this game is had when you get to go out with a group of guys week in week out, so if we can find someone with a schedule similar to yours, you'll have the most fun with it.

I can kind of understand that. I don't necessarily dislike the long battles of attrition like Alatreon and Ceadus as an occasional change of pace, but they're a lot more tedious than the meat and potatoes stuff. I like normal quests, albeit normal quests where the threat of death still exists. With Gamechanger, of course.

I'm pretty sure that I DO hate the Jhen Mohran, though...

Started on a Dual Blades tree -- FOR FUN -- to help my buddy Louuuu. It appears that no one else is really working on Catching 'Em All, so thats where we'll go. My Gunlance tree is going nowhere fast.

Got kinda scared though as I was making them; some HEAVY materials were getting called for. Do I REALLY want to burn this Lagia Sapphire for NO REASON? Eek.

A lot of the dual blade stiff requires some mega stuff. But it's sooo worth it!

Chack no-showed us on Tuesday, but we were able to get an Alatreon run in (another victory with no Potions remaining, eek) and then went on to get roughed up by Brachydios about 4 straight times. I haven't fought that guy in a while, he moves a bit quicker than Alatreon...

Cryo upgraded a SLIME BOW though, so that part was cool. Yay, progress! (No Skyswayers for me..)

Not really. That two shot explosion thing is scary. But make some slime-resistant armor!

I'm sick today. Maybe not as sick as you are, but I'll be around tonight. Haven't eaten anything all day though, blah. Probably won't be up for Alatreon tonight either.

I can play everyday, just not nights since I work 6-2s. I was sick last week, I'm better for the most part just gotta get up at 4:30. My days are random so idk when I can make a teusday or Friday til that week

On Friday, they restart with Round 2, probably around 8. Not sure how deep everything goes. Depending on what is going on (ie: is Nikki up?), I can go offscreen. We'll probably be in the other room for Draft+Smackdown.

Ugh, I hate that the draft has become this big 10 day thing. Only the 1st round should be aired, because after that, no one gives a crap what happens. Not like the Bills do anything anyways.

Eh, its only 3 days. And Sunday is off now. Starting early allows them to rip through it quicker. Shortened the rounds, too. Back when we were in school, 1st Round picks were 15 (FIFTEEN) minutes each.

OF COURSE, you crazy guy! We play EVERY TUESDAY, PFFFFT.

What time are you on? Cryo and I usually hop on around 11pm EST. He might be able to get on earlier than that, but the soonest I can get there is about 1030pm EST, and I gotta have stuff well in hand at work for that to happen.
