Wii Fit U, where fitness is fUn. No that's not their actual slogan, nor would it ever be a contestant for one, but from my own personal experience, Wii Fit has always been a fun and engaging experience. Where the series lacked in the past, challenge of keeping up your daily life with the game life, lack of variety over a long term, and ability to connect with friends,.... the new version for Wii U seems to be correcting all of this.

Fun Fact: There's three tiers to how you can purchase this game. You can either...

A.) Demo the game Nov. 1st and buy a Fit Meter to secure the game for free. The Fit Meter costs $20.

B.) You can buy a Fit Meter and a disc copy of the game for $50. I believe that's on December 13th.

C.) You can buy the disc game, Fit Meter, and the Balance Board for $90 dollars, also December 13th.

For more information, check out Nintendo's webpage for Wii Fit U.

Downloading the trial now.

Do the pedometers go on sale today?

@PogueSquadronI heard something about Toy-R-Us have an in-store exclusive on them for the first month? although you can buy them online at many sites. I don't know if this was confirmed, or just a rumor, sorry.

Whether they're on sale today or not, I think I'll give the trial an extended shot first. I'm not sure if the software has enough new activities to keep me coming back.

I have called Toysrus, Gamestop, Best Buy, and Meijers. I have visited Target. Nobody has them. I keep hearing online for now and stores eventually. Then Gamestop offerred to do ship to store for free, but said there was little interest in them so the Gamestop stores decided not to stock them. It all seems fishy... Who is running this? The same guy getting the Affordable Care Act website working?

I guess I'll buy from Amazon when I get home. A shame I didn't just so this earlier so I could have had the item today. I guess on the bright side, its not essential to play the game, which I can still get for free right now.

Is the trial as large as the whole game? I heard the downloadable version of the game is very large!

Started up the download just before I headed out. Hope to try this out later. Who's creating the Negative World community?

@AbdoooooThey are the same game, its just the demo stops after 31 days if you don't link a Fit-meter to it. The file is just over 3 gigs.

Good question! Fink, would you be up for starting up the Negative World gym? I'll gladly join up.

So far, so good with WFU. I've barely scratched the surface of the game, though, but already I love the GamePad use of this game. Using it as a "mirror" to split-screen with the TV is a terrific idea.

Oh, I've got room then! When Reggie's part of the Nintendo Direct explained the possible use of an external HDD b/c of the game's size I was thinking it was going to be huge. Thanks! Downloading now...

Cool, just answered my own question posted in the download thread.

Downloaded the game (4.6 Gb in Europe!) and my Wit Meter arrived today too. Heckuva deal just needing to buy that to activate the full game.

I'll start the community once I have the game, today or tomorrow.

I read on the eShop page the game will also be purchasable through the eShop, anybody knows how much it will cost (not really interested into the WiiFit meter, I'll only buy it if I must).
11/01/13, 23:51
@SimbabbadI believe they won't be releasing the full eShop version until early next year for some reason.

@cooliocuneo

Oh. Then I'll buy the meter, I guess, it'll be probably cheaper to do so, thanks for the information.

Weird that the eShop specifies savegames of the trial-made-complete version and the downloadable version aren't compatible.
11/02/13, 00:27
@Simbabbad

What? So what does that mean? Would anyone ever be in a situation to need both versions and try to use the same save?
11/02/13, 00:51
@DrFinkelstein

I guess they warn people that if they use the trial version for a month and don't buy the meter to transform it into the full version, then they'll lose their progress in the trial version if they buy the downloadable or retail version down the road.

What I wonder, though, is: if I buy the meter, then will the demo version forever be labelled "demo version"? If Nintendo deletes the demo later and I deleted my demo-made-full-version on my system, will I be able to download it again?
11/02/13, 01:03
@Simbabbad

I was worried about that too. I really hope they'd not be so stupid. Fan outcry could fix the "demo" moniker but the save file thing, they could be just silly enough to have manufactured that problem...if the Online Wii Saves situation was any indication.

Negative World Gym, brilliant! Has this been formed yet?
