This game is on sale on the eShop, $4.99 currently. I decided to check it out.

It's pretty fun. You glide around preset tracks filling them in, while avoiding enemies. It has a nice style, good music and sems to have a lot of content. It's also quite difficult (at zone 4 right now). I wish you could zoom out a bit more, because one wrong move and you have to restart the stage. Also, the online leaderboards don't work all the time. Actually,they've only worked once. Hm.

I recommend the game, if you've got 5 bucks to burn check it out.

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

I've had my eye on this for a short while, and I've enjoyed what (little) I had played of the WiiWare version. I guess I have $5 to burn. Although I fear this is one of those games that I'll download then never play. I do that a lot with digital titles, unfortunately.

Downloaded this last week for $5. Haven't played it yet but if it's anything like the WiiWare game, I'm going to love it.

The sale is still going on? Sweet, I thought I had missed it.

It's on sale until April 18th

@OrbitalBeard I think it IS the WiiWare game, except all of the chapters?!

@Zero

Yeah, I think you're right. Which means everyone should check it out, because that was one of the best WiiWare games I played.

Hmmm. Afraid, the game is just not clicking with me. I'm only in Zone 3 and it feels like a chore!

EDIT: (I think the reason is that I have an RPG itch that isn't getting scratched at the moment. Ah well - 1 week until Fire Emblem.) *shakes fist at NOE*

Vektor's face is emerging from the pixels and he seems to be weaving a back story - I'll defo play on to hear a bit more.

@Zero

It has new mechanics, too.

@Super_Conzo
I thought I was crazy when I realized he had a face - I thought I had missed that all along, lol.

Wow, really?

@GameDadGrant

Definitely. I finished it in two sittings. Loved it.

Hmm, this makes me feel better about spending $5 on the 3DS version.

Unless...wait, what are other top WiiWare games you've played?

I bought this one for $5 last week along with Order Up!! It is pretty fun but I would recommend it only for gamer types (like those on this forum) because of a few things:

1. It does have a story but the focus is really on the arcade aspect of high score chasing and online leaderboards.
2. The aforementioned zoom problem is an unfortunate design decision that makes the game a lot less accessible.
3. Vektor can only be hit once in each level. There is no shield upgrade nor any temporary invicibility power up. Having these would make it lot more accessible to a broader audience. Perhaps the developers could have included a "casual" mode that gives the player 3 hits or a temporary shield but would not let a player gain medals and high scores if using them.

I am finding it fun though and would recommend it as a game to be played in short bursts. I am currently on zone 5.

Perhaps you could buy it and talk about it on RFN? I'd like to hear some insightful analysis.

Then why are you asking Guillaume to talk about it?

OH SNAP!!!!

I only joke because I love, Gui.

Mega Man 9 and 10, Fluidity, the Art Style series, the games from Shin'en (Art of Balance, Jett Rocket, FAST: Racing League), World of Goo, the Bit. Trip series, Cave Story and Toki Tori. I've also heard great things about La-Mulana, so I'll be downloading that soon.

@OrbitalBeard

You're a good man, @OrbitalBeard.

@GameDadGrant

You as well, sir!

I just finished the first world (and I've already gone back to improve my scores in the early levels once I got the turbo, haha). Pretty cool game! I love the way the story is presented so far.

What I like less is that I get a failure message half the time it tries to connect to the online leaderboards.

@GameDadGrant

I had not seen this. You, sir, are now on my gritlist.
