I'm still on Assassin's Creed 1!

By the way I'm really liking it so far. I dunno what people were saying about it being weak in that thread I made. I guess if I enjoy this one the rest will be even better...

Finally someone else that likes AC1! I thought I was the only one left...

Finished the main story earlier today. Ending was great and and in typical AC fashion ended in a cliffhanger.
Going around and getting all the collectibles now. Full Synch on all missions will take forever though.

I didn't like that this one ended on a cliffhanger though. Thought that this was supposed to be the end!

@Secret_Tunnel
It was only meant to be the end of Desmonds story and it was the end of Desmonds story.

Trying to get my review done for this game but have no idea how to start it. My rage is building.

Not sure if you guys care, plus it is not offered on the Wii U version, but Amazon gold box deal today is AC3 for $33 shipped. Only for the xbox and PS3 version unfortunately.

I'm just starting Sequence 10, with 22 hours on my save file (with a 46% completion, which I assume means completion toward getting every item and optional objective, not 46% story completed).

My Animus Database is at 74% completion.

I love the homestead and building up my village with more citizens.

The entire economy of the game is really nice! Everything has an impact on how you will make money. I've reduced 'risk' and 'taxes' to make my land convoys more profitable, discovered more recipes and artisans to make it more profitable to make and sell new times to the people, all so I can buy better weapons and ship upgrades, making life a lot easier!

And the way hunting is integrated is well done. Some of my favorite moments are when I can just gallop past an animal on my horse, leap off, and take them down with my hidden blades!

Going through my Log Book, there's a TON of stuff to do in this game if I so desire: Boston Brawlers, The Hunting Society, the Frontiersmen, Forts, Naval missions, collecting feathers, almanac pages, finding chests and trinkets, fulfilling assassination contracts, delivery requests, courier missions... it goes on and on

Ah yes, Forts are a challenge. I've taken over three of them, it's so satisfying to pull off!

The story continues to remain very interesting, with Connor teaming up with his father after years of hatred and a desire to kill him (along with the other Templars). It seems what Haytham is saying about George Washington has some truth to it, but we shall see.

Did I mention how much I love the GamePad for this game? Being able to tap a weapon on the touch screen to switch quicker is quite handy, as is the horse call icon.

There's been some strange stuff with the game at times... like, I see a liberation mission on my map, but when I go there, it's no longer there? Weird.

(just wanted to post some random thoughts on the game so far!)

The forts are great fun. Have you done many of the naval missions yet?

So I have managed to get all the collectibles so far and have 4 more sequences to 100%. Homestead stuff is done except for the scanning thing I need to do with the residents. Forts are all done and Thief tasks are done. Still need to get the rest of the fast travel points though and explore the rest of the map. I'm at around 92% at the moment so i'm almost done.

Yeah, I've been having a lot of fun doing a lot of the naval missions! This game is packed with so much goodness it seems.

And wow at your progress. This game seems pretty hefty to go for 100%, but once you get going why not go all the way, right?
12/17/12, 14:41
@roykoopa64
I have got close to 100% on previous games, but never all the way.
When I first saw the naval missions, I didn't think too much of them, but now I love them. Just wish I could figure out how to hit the powder barrels...
12/17/12, 14:45
@Pokefreak911

The powder barrels have to do with hitting the weak points of the ships with the precise guns on your ship, right? I'm not sure about getting those right all the time either.

Speaking of naval missions, ship upgrades are expensive! I'm definitely not making that much money at the moment. I also splurged a little on a new dagger and a new sword for Connor.

Just last night, I discovered something in the game I should have been doing before more often: sending my assassin recruit on missions so that he can level up and become stronger. That way, I can just send a recruit to help defend my convoy whenever they get attacked.

I just barely got my second assassin recruit, in New York, for a grand total of two. I can see two of them in Boston, but they won't join me yet, as the districts are still under the threshold for control by Connor and the Assassins.

@roykoopa64
Yeah, it took me a while to get the naval upgrades, but they sure do come in handy.
And Assassin Recruits are great for money + extra combat strength. I rather liked how the Assassin Recruits were handled in this one compared to Brotherhood. They're harder to get and not as OP.

Money is a much bigger problem in AC3 compared to earlier titles as well. How are you going with the crafted weapons btw?

@Pokefreak911

Crafted weapons... for selling or for Connor's use? I haven't crafted weapons, I've only purchased them from the Boston general store (I need to find more of the stores, I've only found one in Boston!).
12/17/12, 17:22
@roykoopa64
Connor's use. There are some great guns in there plus the ability to have double holsters. I can fire off 4 shots before reloading on my save :D

And don't worry about not finding stores, just explore for a bit and you should find more.

Those upgrades sound awesome, hope I can discover them soon.

It's no exaggeration to say I learn a couple of new things about the way the game works every time I play. Take that as you will; either (a) the game is so deep that there's always stuff to discover, or (b) certain apects of the game are not explained thoroughly enough. This game seems to swing a bit from one to the other.
12/18/12, 15:36
I'm so on the fence about this game. Had one of them on the PS3 when I had one, and it didn't do much for me.

@Deerock69
Try it out and if you don't like it, return it. They do do returns where you come from right?

@roykoopa64
Just loot chests and you should unlock them easily.

@Pokefreak911

Returns? Not unless I buy used. Trying to avoid that as much as possible this gen. I'm not losing any sleep over it. I might wait for a sale.
12/19/12, 13:19
@Deerock69
Ah ok.
The Assassin's Creed games are a funny thing. Some people adore them and others hate them.
