I just got home from Gamestop moments ago, having picked this charming thing up.
I've only just turned it on even and already the 3D looks pretty amazing.
Rumor has it that this game has some confusing backtracking that can be tricky to some, so lets use this thread to discuss the game and help each other out if need be! Good luck!
@DrFinkelsteinThe bowling ball is something else. When you went to Loop Loop River, World 3-5, did go to the island in the middle and get the stump Scrap you needed to get the second exit out of Wiggler's house? I was stuck there, too. When you're on the leaf on the first screen, just going past the bridge, jump and you'll make some hidden coin blocks appear.
Sorry if you did that part and are stuck somewhere else. I just did this part Monday, so I can probably remember what happens next if you're stuck after that.
Oh!!! No I did not! I used a fire flower sticker near that stump but I didn't manage to figure out my way to that island. Makes sense. Thank you. I will try this soon.
I was going to ask if you ever get any life upgrades in this game when I finally got one in the desert. I figured something was up when some dude took me from full to dead in a single hit. I'm probably still a bit behind, huh? Might have missed something.

Pretty sure there are at least 2 or 3 in world 1 alone. I think you may have missed some! Did you fight the giant Buzzy Beetle mini-boss in 1-4?

They're all over! Most of them are hidden a bit, like many of the extras in this game, you have to go off the beaten path for goodies. One thing that seems common is they hide stuff AFTER the star pieces in many levels. So before you grab that Shine Get! Look a little further and see what's beyond and around it. This way you'll clean up levels, because if you touch the star you'll have to backtrack from the beginning of the level to look at that area again.
Loving this game, doing my best not to look at the internets for help, so far so good! (knocking on wood)
Ha ha I knew I had to be missing some. I explored though!
One thing I don't get it how to open the doors that are well... doors without having a door. I figured there must be a door sticker or something, but I sure don't have any.
@Zero You'll find the stickers later; don't worry about it until then. Pretty sure it's World 3. Some of the doors have life upgrades, but not all of them.

Yep. That's right, there be interesting inks behind those doors!
Let's see I just opened up world 4 and I have 60HP I think... I know it's at least 60.
I've open my copy of the game but haven't started yet (hope to do so soon). It'll be interesting to see if I like it or not. Reading people's impressions over at NeoGAF, it seems to be a love it or hate it type of game.
Hmm, I've been running around the sphinx (2-2?) for awhile now, not entirely sure what to do next. I get up to the stairs that kind of lead to nowhere and I assume that I have to do something up there? Can't figure out what.
Just beat the game. Like most bosses, I didn't quite have the right stickers and got trounced the first time, but it was mainly because I was about two mushrooms shy of enough.
I finally started the game and played through the first area. First impressions are positive! The game has great dialog, but not too much of it. The music is awesome. And for some reason, the way the shinny stickers reflect when you move the 3DS blows me away!

The 3D is impeccable in this one! And it's fun, I read it was Miyamotos call to strip away the badges, gear, and exp, and although I'm miffed at that I can't help but enjoy this game.
Man, the pieces that you need for 2-5... are they all in World 2, or can they be anywhere? I've "finished" World 3 and I still have no idea what to do about World 2. I only have 1 of the 3 pieces.
I found another one, the one that the sign in the whirlwind area tells you about but I'm still not sure where the last one is. I'm guessing also in World 2.
Hmm. I forget where I found the first one (which was actually the middle one when you put it down), so I'm not sure which areas I can rule out checking. Ug.
I'm guessing it is in 2-4? Where the twister is? I dunno what sticker to use on that.
People always say Nintendo hand holds too much, but I feel like this game could use a tad bit more pointing me in the right direction.
