Ok, so I know Nintendo cares about family appeal and everything but they clearly didn't play test this menu system with kids. There are like 8 billion menus before you get into an actual game, you have to pick your characters every time, and moreso by pointing (which takes like a year to get done with a bunch of kids) and the ultimate anti-playing-with-kids sin (which admittedly is in a lot of games,) you have 5 different controls and ANY of them can select things, which of course means the only way to ever get anything done is to take all of the controllers away from the kids, make all of the selections yourself, and then hand all of the controllers back. At which point someone is probably whining because they wanted the other girl, not the one you picked for them.
...honestly though, why would you ever need "everyone" to be able to select things? Even with all adults it makes no sense, like, you don't trust a single person to make selections? But with kids it is HELL.
All other things aside, Nintendo Land is a hit. I just wish there was some kind of "quick play" button. Maybe the train lets you skip some of the extra selection stuff? |

Like for the deku tree, GI should make the inside of the mouth glow brighter when it opens. And generally I expect more subtle shifts in lighting on the environment as enemies and objects move around in them. That's because Nintendo hasn't yet rolled out the firmware update that allows the Wii U to process graphics better. Trust me, once that bad boy is out the lighting in Nintendo Land will rival The Last Guardian. |
