Alrighty everyone, the game is finally out in all primary regions.... IDreamofHime was the first to receive their copy here on the boards. This is the place to discuss it!!!

Welcome to the thread on Negative World where all wondrous Zelda talk can occur. I would recommend that if you wanna talk about deeper-game stuff as we get going, perhaps spoiler-tag it and then describe outside of spoilers where in the game it is. The recent Super Mario 3D Land Discussion Thread is a good example. That'll allow people who aren't too far to read the thread without actually spoiling stuff for them. Just try to be courteous but definitely have fun with the game and discussions!!

Have ye what it takes?

Be sure to hit up the Skyward Sword Game Page and add the game to your collection once you've received yours. Be sure to mark it as "Playing" while you work on it and after you're played it sufficiently, give it a score you deem fitting!

If you've beaten the game, click on over to roykoopa64's Skyward Sword story/ ending discussion (SPOILERS), and general thoughts thread! It's like this thread part deux!!

Beat dungeon #6 last night. Pretty good but coming off of #5 it felt like pretty standard fare. The boss also felt a little easy. I'm interested to see where the story goes from here.

@SimbabbadAnd so they should have.

How CIA is it really? The black bars can be removed by mousing over for God's sake.... nobody's really doing much to restrict anything. Spoiler-tagging simply prevents people who aren't looking for it from accidentally seeing it early, while allowing people to still discuss anything they want. Really, it's pretty effin' brilliant of a tool.

I think Simba is just amused by how it looks.

There's no actual reason to be bothered by the "censoring". It's certainly no reason for anyone to die in a fire.

@Guillaume

Well I for one am glad to see the troops are enjoying themselves .

@Guillaume

lol, funny photo. Now if only we could mouse over that right there and discover what the troops really are doing. If only they'd have posted that on the Negative World boards... dang...

It works well too, much better than other forums where you have to click it or something.

To those who don't know, copying your save file to another slot near the end of the game is strongly recommended.

Im surprised the post game stuff is considered spoilers. I barely read any articles before playing the game and only watched a couple videos and I guess that info was revealed in the tiny bit of stuff I did happen to read/see and by no means was I upset. I just really did not want to find out anything about the story or see too much of the game, like bosses and areas. Of course, it being a Zelda game one can kindof guess correctly what is going to happen throughout the course of the game.

It just seems way overdone about the spoilers. I mean, back in the day, in the thread's title, the word spoilers would be injected basically telling everyone to enter the thread at his or her own risk. All these black bars is overkill, imo. Many things I have read and Im not even close to the end of the game, and Im like, "Thats a spoiler?"

Here is how I see it, if people do not want to know ANYTHING about a certain game, then they should just avoid any threads about that game. It seems with Mario Land 3D and this Zelda game, people have gone off the deep end over them. And I think its only cause we Nintendo fans have been so game starved over the last year.

Just my 2 cents.

Well, a lot of people like talking about the game while they're going through it--a process that can take several weeks for something like Zelda. One of the best parts of gaming for me is discussing it with others, and I don't want to rush through just to chat about it! Everyone has different levels of tolerance with what's a spoiler or not, so I just play it safe with the tags. A lot of people like to go in blind, not having any idea about what's next in the game.

Yeah, in an internet where some people consider posting a review score to be a spoiler, I learned that it is best to play it safe.

I'm halfway through the Lanayru Mines and loving every minute of it.

...Does anyone realise that when Fi makes up a statistic she always uses 85%?

85% of all statistics are made up.

I beat it with about 45 hours. Other then LTTP, it's the best Zelda game I have played!
12/04/11, 06:04
Link got pretty lucky, the probability Fi's over 50% predictions would hold up every time was at least less than 5%...
12/04/11, 06:07
I've actually had Fi say 0% to me before, when I was poking around an area that she had already said to move along in. Pre-dungeon 5: I kept blowing sand around in the room after the Moldarach rematch.

Just played more, and now I finally have a good grasp on the storyline. Like many past Zelda games, though, SS tends to hold off on information for awhile, then gives you a ton of it at once, which always feels somewhat jarring. But outside of a repeated idea, the story is shaping up to be pretty cool. I even found the scene in question to be quite touching.
12/04/11, 07:22
I've only seen one point where Fi is 100% certain of something: (post dungeon 6 spoilers) when you scan The Imprisoned in the second battle with it, she says the probability of The Groosenator working against it is 100%. I lol'd that THAT would be the one thing she's certain of.

@rebonack
Haha, that's great. I wonder how I missed that, though, since I just did that segment and what you're supposed to do there. I must've skimmed it...

@VofEscaflowne Agreed! They looked like giant muppets.
