Alrighty everyone, the game is finally out in all primary regions.... IDreamofHime was the first to receive their copy here on the boards. This is the place to discuss it!!!
Welcome to the thread on Negative World where all wondrous Zelda talk can occur. I would recommend that if you wanna talk about deeper-game stuff as we get going, perhaps spoiler-tag it and then describe outside of spoilers where in the game it is. The recent Super Mario 3D Land Discussion Thread is a good example. That'll allow people who aren't too far to read the thread without actually spoiling stuff for them. Just try to be courteous but definitely have fun with the game and discussions!!
Have ye what it takes?
Be sure to hit up the Skyward Sword Game Page and add the game to your collection once you've received yours. Be sure to mark it as "Playing" while you work on it and after you're played it sufficiently, give it a score you deem fitting!
That's MORE the reason you should play those games again. Give yourself new memories to attach to them. This girl a few months ago kinda shit on my heart figuratively and it was kinda weird going to the places where we had some special moments but I had dinner here or visited there with other friends and that gave me a new memory to attach. Same could apply to games!
Cookies, check. Scented candle, check. (so I have a smell to remember skyward by) Room cleaning, in progress.
You guys doing anything last minute to prepare?
This is a really freaking good idea and I should remember it when I get big games too. I (unintentionally) associate Lufia II (some weird perfumey air freshener that we had for a short while) and Super Metroid (Nickelodeon Floam) with particular smells. Of course, like many Thanksgivings, I'll be spending it at my family's condo, a place that smells of countless memories!
It's accepted that odors are generally the strongest sense at bringing back memories. Sometimes I'll walk into a certain building or house and it whisks me back to 20 years ago.
I got my copy. I got the bundle. I also won the poster by answering a trivia question: "What dungeon did Eiji Anouma publicly apologize for?" I also won the guide in a raffle. Here's my haul:
I went through many phases today. "I think I'm going to clean my room." ::straightens up a little:: "I really should finish this up later." "Eh, my room's clean enough."
Don't know if this has been mentioned yet since I've been avoiding this thread because of the possibility of others getting the game and starting it early, but no intro/back story in the instruction booklet? I haven't been this surprised since they dropped magic from the series...
Well, only about 8 more hours and I will have the game. I was thinking about going to walmart at midnight, but I have to take my son to Gamestop in the morning anyways to pick up his copy, so I figured I could wait...plus I was got really tired by early evening. I was up really late last night and then had to do the podcast this morning....which was lots of fun...had a great time doing it!
Good to hear. Probably by now, Nintendo feels, whats the point. Plus, maybe they know how many people are pissed over the Xenoblade thing and they know alot of people imported the game, so they didn't want to piss people off even more by taking their only means of playing the game away, via homebrew.
My GameStop is not doing a midnight launch and they do not open til 11am on Sunday's....... I woke up at 5am est and couldn't go back to sleep because I am too excited. 5 hours remain.... I love the feeling of getting the new Zelda game.
Majoras mask was for Christmas when I was in 7th grade and the wait was unbearable. Wind waker was when I was in 9th grade and I couldn't wait. My GameStop released it the night before at 9pm Twilight princess was the year after I graduated high school and I waited in line at Walmart for 20 hours to get a wii and Zeldq Skyward Sword is three weeks before I graduate college and become a teacher and the wait seems like it took forever
For some reason these last five hours will take longer than the last five years.
I was only going to have to wait till 11, but now I have to wait till more like 1:30... I had a party get scheduled for 11am. I'm a videographer for this company that does special kinds of birthday parties so.... that's a two hour chunk I'm not happy about, lol. But I'll go immediately after.
@DrFinkelstein I have a professional conference to give on Tuesday and I'm not prepared yet. I can't prepare knowing I'm playing Zelda all day. I'll play today, get the novelty out of the way and tomorrow get my presentation ready after work. I just need to see it and play it to return my brain to normal so I can work again....
Leaving in one hour... The excitement is killing me. Funny thing is my doctor the other day said my blood pressure was a little high. I'm sure it's the Zelda excitement because I'm racing right now hahaha.... On a serious note, my blood pressure is lowering due to life changes.
For some reason I picked to have it shipped to the GameStop in the mall instead of the one that's closer to me...total brain cramp on my part.
So it doesn't open until noon...oh well, only a couple of hours to go. I'm super psyched to have a couple of days here to do nothing but play this game. I'm also stoked that I'm going into the game with very little knowledge of what to expect.
