Super Mario 3D Land in our game database (add it to your collection/log and rate it!) Super Mario 3D Land is a platformer that has been described by game designer Shigeru Miyamoto as a "3D Mario that plays as a 2D Mario game." As such, Super Mario 3D Land combines the elements of traditional side-scrolling Mario titles, such as linear-based levels, with those of the modern open world Mario titles, such as moving Mario in three dimensions and performing a variety of actions. Similar to the classic side-scrolling Mario games, the objective of each level is to reach and grab the flagpole located at the end before the time limit expires. Super Mario 3D Land utilizes a similar health system to those games, in which Mario shrinks upon taking damage from enemies or hazards, and damage while "small" results in losing a life. The game offers a number of traditional Mario items, such as the Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Starman, along with new power-ups that bestow a special suit onto Mario that grants him new abilities. Some revealed power-ups include the Super Leaf from Super Mario Bros. 3, which allows Mario to turn into Tanooki Mario and attack with his raccoon-like tail and float in the air; the Statue Leaf, which allows him to turn into a statue; and the Propeller Box, which acts similarly to the Propeller Block and the Propeller Mushroom from New Super Mario Bros. Wii, allowing Mario to reach high places. Bout to head out to pick up my copy! Here we go!URL to share (right click and copy)

@carlosrox, Zero & triforcebunGlad you guys liked that. I came across it and knew you guys would like it. Oh, come on Zero. You might as well play as Luigi and 100% the game. Like, what else do you have to play...other than Zelda this sunday. Anyways, the 2nd time through should go faster for you or anyone for that matter. Ok, I made it to world 8 today! I will be honest there is a fair amount of coins I have not found and many flagpoles I need to master. So, has everyone noticed, just like in the orig. SMB that grabbing the flagpole when the timer ends in a 6,3 or 1 will net you some celebration. 6=Balloons, 3 =circular firework and 1 gives you some confetti celebration. I honestly love this game and even though its a little tougher for me than it was for some of you, I wish it wasn't so tough for me. The most amount of lives Ive had was 26. Today, I went all the way down to 1 life and no way was I going to see a 'game over' screen. So I went back to some of the earlier levels, esp. some where I needed all the coins and I replayed those. So far I have died 185 times. Which I will admit is alot less than the SMG1. I actually never finished Galaxy 2..yea I know, I need beat. Don't worry, that game is on my agenda as soon as I finish Skyward sword...(I told you guys I had a big backlog and it also includes DKCR. HELP In world 2-2, I cannot find the 3rd friggin star coin. This was one of the levels I went to replay, cause there is also alot of coins. I played through the level many, many times and for the life of me I cannot find the 3rd star coin. The first one is easy and then the 2nd one is where you have to do a walljump and the coin is hidden along with a timer. And after that the level is almost done. Where the hell is that star coin?!?!?! @ZeroHere is what you need to do to unlock the final special stage..I also posted this stuff back on page 9: To Unlock the Final Level:
To unlock the Final Level, get 5 Profile Stars (see below).
Profile Stars Star 1 - Beat Bowser in World 8 Star 2 - Beat every level as Mario Star 3 - Beat every level as Luigi Star 4 - Get the Gold Flag on every level Star 5 - Get every Star Coins in the game |

@gamewizard65For the thing you have spoiler tagged.... do I need to get gold flags with both Mario and Luigi or is with either or sufficient? Cause I did do all of those gold flags as Mario but as Luigi I am just trying to power through the levels, not worrying about making it up to the top. Is that gonna mess me up? As for that Star Medal, I was stumped for a while too... so I'll give you a clue but not tell you where it's at... No joke... its... in the same part of the level as the flagpole. Look at every surface for clues. Somewhere in there is the secret. Also, it's not readily visible until you do something... |
