Here's the U.S. TV Spot for Skyward Sword. I'm sure most of you have seen it, but what's your take on it?

Didn't look. We're on media blackout, remember?!?!?! Lol

@Fabz

It doesn't really show anything new, so watch it if you want to have a permanent cringe.

Why not just show gameplay (the selling point of the game) and treat it as something important?

I hate when Nintendo does this with their big games. Reminds me of the 60 second Metroid Prime commercial back in the day, that had about 57 seconds of live action Samus and 3 seconds of visor scanning. For one of the best looking and best playing games around.

That was some unbuttered, white toast. *BLEH*

Boring.

It's got nothing on this...

I thought is started well but then it got more dull and cringeworthy as it went on. I guess it's aimed at the new Wii crowd, not the lifelong Zelda crowd - hey! we're family friendly! - but even so, that was one uncool commercial.

That commercial was about as "cool" as a minivan full of Creed fans.

Considering how important this title is, it's pretty terrible. Why didn't America get the Robin & Zelda Williams commercials? Those were great!

It was simply disgusting. Compare that to the original Ocarina of Time commercial, Wind Waker one, or most recently Other M and than tell me that this isn't all kinds of fail.

Thats it...I'm buying a Sega.

The Majora's Mask commercial was the best one.

This commercial will move copies, count on it.

It makes me think 80's European gamers grew up to be cooler than US gamers :p
Part 1

Part 2

Was watching the commercial again and fail to see what's so bad about it. I'm voting YES now. I didn't before cuz I wasn't sure.

Honestly one of the worst videogame commercials I have ever seen.

Complete epic failure.

No hyperbole. It really is one of the worst commercials for a videogame I have seen, at least in the modern era.

You read reviews and the game appears to be an absolutely epic, beautiful game with a vibrant and incredible world to explore. You get none of that from the commercial, which is a shame because everything we all have read and seen points to something far grander than the commercial lets on. That's a problem because most people aren't you or I who read reviews and watch gameplay clips.

If that TV spot was all you knew about this game, you would be less than impressed. I already know the game is AAA and I'm less than impressed.

Yeah but there could be multiple commercials. TV spots usually have like 3 different versions or something.

Either way I liked them showing Zelda evolve over the years. Was a nice throwback to the original Zelda commercial as well.

It's done incredibly poorly. There is a right and wrong way to go about this, the right way was how they did the NSMBWii commercial. It's essentially the same core concept however that just came off much, much better... a lot of which has to do with the fact the music and images said everything that needed to be said, the announcer guy in the Zelda commercial is totally unnecessary and detracts from the core message, making it come off as anything but an evolution of an epic series.

The Zelda evolution part was fun, the rest is kind of... eh. The dad looks silly to me. And as someone else said, he should have let his son play.
