The NEVERENDING QUEST is BACK! [community]

Old school Neg Worlder's remember fondly the experience quest. I decided to remake it. I actually had this ready long ago, I just wanted to get some more stages going, but I've been pretty busy and thought WTF, it has 10 stages already which isn't a bad start. I'll work on more stages once people need them.

So enter the new and improved NEVERENDING EXPERIENCE QUEST.

For the newbz, essentially it is a meta-game contained in this site, seeing how many stages you can complete. Some are just simple quizzes. Others will make you think outside the box. Can't explain it much more than that, just play it yourself and see what I mean!

The Neverending Experience Quest can be found HERE or under "NEQ" in the "etc" menu above (link actually does something now.)

You can also view user rankings HERE (just sort by NEQ to see who is leading the quest.)

CHANGES:
A. Massive XP now given for every stage completed. MASSIVE.
B. There is now a strike system. You start with full XP for any given stage, but lose XP each time you answer incorrectly, up to 3 strikes. After that, there are no more penalties, so guess away!
C. There is now a hint system. When you answer incorrectly you will get a hint. There is only one hint per stage.

Post any questions, concerns, bugs, etc. in this thread! And you can also use, but do NOT post actual answers in this thread.

WARNING: DO NOT POST ACTUAL ANSWERS IN THIS THREAD. OR ANY THREAD, FOR THAT MATTER. The point of the game is everyone figures it out on their own. If you want to private message a friend an answer that's between you and them, but keep it private.

OTHER WARNING: I WILL NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, GIVE "PRIVATE" HINTS THIS TIME AROUND. ANY HINTS I DECIDE TO GIVE WILL BE DONE PUBLICLY HERE, IN THE OFFICIAL NEVERENDING EXPERIENCE QUEST THREAD. AND YOU CAN BEG ALL YOU WANT, YOU WON'T GET MANY HINTS, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING HINTS ARE NOW WORKED INTO THE GAME.

Have at it!

I still don't get #4, am I missing something? Is it asking for the highest possible amount of blue Pikmin?

Then I don't get it. It says:

Olimar starts with an army of 37 Yellow Pikmin, 14 Red Pikmin, and 8 Blue Pikmin. He loses 57 Pikmin in a battle with Beady Long Legs. He uses his remaining Pikmin to build up an army of 27, then loses 5 Yellow Pikmin and 12 Red Pikmin. What is the maximum number of Blue Pikmin?

OK well...

(Can't let you explain that... Brick)

@Brick

You have to use a bit of logic with this one. Have you played Pikmin? Think of the rules governing Pikmin creation ;)

Yeah I played it, but don't really remember, and I did use what I thought was logic, which I explained in my post but as you can see that was edited out, even though it was the wrong answer.

@Brick

If you've still got the game try and simluate the scenario they're talking about. You'll figure it out pretty easy then ;)

That'd be a little hard though don't you think, after all there's no guarantee that the beady long legs would kill the exact amount of Pikmin needed, and spare the ones that need to survive.

Split them up ;) Leave the survivor group at home where its safe and send the other unlucky bastards on a suicide mission.

Mwahaha :P

(Also they dont have to be killed by that exact monster, just killed, that's what really matters.)

It's the amount of blue Pikmin left at the end, not the amount that was there throughout right?
02/04/10, 13:03
I'm still stuck on #5... grrrr
02/04/10, 19:14
I'm still on #8.

Right.

OK I got it. I was wondering how (can't let you reveal that... Brick), but the real answer just didn't even occur to me until today.

@Brick

Just wanted to point out that the edit in this post made me crack up at work. Thanks, jerks. :p

I had trouble figuring out number 1. I just got it... and man, do I feel dumb. :|

@Kal-El814

Can't let you slack at work... Kal-El!

Do you have to have played No More Heroes to figure out #8? Because I am totally not getting it.
02/11/10, 04:46
Should I be able to type more than two letters in the question box for the question about the robot and his friend? I'm pretty sure I know the answer, I just can't type more than two letters on any browser.

@Cubed777

I'm having the same problem. I know the answer, but don't know how to get it to two characters.
02/14/10, 01:11
Very fun stuff.

I've only been here a day and I felt compelled to complete all 10 stages. haha.

I needed this thread to help me with #5... while I knew the series, I didn't think about how to go about typing it. Very easy in retrospect.

#8 was probably my favorite, as it was very clever, but you should make it easier to fail.
02/17/10, 19:13
Ah man, #7 has me totally stumped.

EDIT: Aha! Pretty darn clever! I really took the wrong approach with that one for a long time...
