Best Buy Locations for E3 Demos NOT AS GIMPED AS WE THOUGHT! CHECK LINK INSIDE!

So, I hope there weren't that many people able to go to this thing... because Nintendo and Best Buy has significantly cut their list of locations. To make matters worse, each Best Buy will only have one Demo Station per store... which has the four demos on it. Since you'll be waiting most of your time, if not the entire time (as no time limit has been announced for the stations)... there will be some kind of activities and swag.

They've apparently added more or still are using some others from the original list. Do NOT take the below list as CANON.

JUST CLICK THIS LINK ALREADY!!! --->>> HERE

Did your Best Buy make the cut? Here's the Semi-True List as of now.

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

How early are you guys getting there?

I work until 4:30 so I'll probably get there around 5. Depends on how crowded it is whether I actually even play anything :p

My closest is still just within the 20-mile search radius. Oh well. I'm almost half-way there at work. Maybe I'll just drop in after work today, hopefully get some Street Passes and swag, and find out how I really feel about Mario 3D World. Too bad I can't check 101 to see if it's really for me, but that's a small price to pay!

EDIT: I work until 5, so I might end up just walking in at 5:30, watching over some shoulders while waiting for those puzzle pieces, and walking out. Then the 32-mile drive home.

@PogueSquadron

3PM. My plan is to be the start of the line. :)

I'm taking along Luigi's Mansion for company.

We were going to try to get there a little early but we didn't really want to get there an hour early. If there's too many people we'll just have to forget about it.

I'm excited to check these games out but Amanda gave me a bit of a reality check. Wind Waker is basically a game I've played in HD. DKC is a sequel incredibly similar to DKCR, and Mario looks a lot like 3D Land. Mario Kart, while amazingly beautiful, is still Mario Kart. So I'm excited, but I have to agree with some people that my excitement is lessened a bit due to how safe these games are and how much deja vu they're giving me.

Got to have a doctor check out my butt at 3:30. FUN. Guess I'll be there at about 4:30; any other Louisiana residents down here?

Got to play Mario Kart. It did look quite pretty. I drove on the walls every chance I got. I think I liked it. It serves the same purpose as the hang glider sections did IMO, and that is to free the race track up a bit so that you have some breathing room. The tracks seemed pretty inventive. No new items. Looked super smooth in mutliplayer (2p). The added resolution really helps you see the game.

I'm pretty pumped. I really hope the online is a significant jump over MKW, because if it is, we're going to have a LOT of fun.

In the end, it's Mario Kart. It's incredibly similar to what we've played before, but it just looked very, very polished.

After work I drove half an hour in traffic to the Best Buy only to be informed that there were no slots available. He said if I stayed two and a half hours until 8, he might be able to squeeze me in. Disappointing.

@Jargon

Slots? So do they take like a number?

Stood in line 3 hours and didn't get to demo. Oh well. Worst part was jamming my pinky finger on the car door as I left. Or that the fab pizza place I wanted to go to closed right before I got there.

If I were predisposed to such feelings, I'd be kinda pissed, but I'm a Nintendo fan. I roll with them punches! The lady did let me have a Luigi racing flag. It looks good on my wall. And I got 12 Street Passes which is unheard of for this city (outside Gen Con).

Really hoping Nintendo does anothe Wii U experience tour later this year in Adelaide. They did one last year and the service and catering was fantastic.

@DrFinkelstein

There was a sign up sheet. The worst part is I can't use this knowledge to go Saturday because I have a meeting

@VickiL That's awful, I'm sorry your experience was so lackluster. Is your finger okay? Maybe try going again Saturday? I'm going then, can't wait, hopefully the Best Buy in Overland Park isn't too crazy.

@Marsh
Busy on Saturday. It's my best friend's wife's birthday.

EDIT: Six more people were in my Mii Plaza when I woke up and I was able to finish my DCKR puzzle finally. It's hard to type at work today (why to so many words have an A in them?) but other than the typing, my hand is okay.

@Jargon

So if Grant and I go like 2 hours ahead and sign up then go grab lunch,.. that would be just fine?

@DrFinkelstein

Maybe, it seems like different stores do it differently

@DrFinkelstein

They only let us sign up about 20 minutes before, and I had already been waiting 40 minutes (first guy in line was there 1.5 hours early). But yes, after you sign up you can leave. Just be VERY careful, some people take longer than the allotted 7 minutes and some take less. So if they tell you to be back at 1:30 or something, be back closer to 1 or whatever because if you miss it, you miss it.

@TriforceBun

NICE! How'd everything go?

@VickiL

Nothing says "party" like waiting in line for hours!

Thanks for the input everyone. I think Grant and I will go an hour early and see what happens.

@DrFinkelstein

Remember: Grant isn't looking to purchase yet. This is where YOU come in.

Make the conversion.
