Nintendo recently announced that we would get to play various E3 Wii U demos live at Best Buy stores during the show. E3 is taking place in just a few short weeks, from June 11th to the 13th, and we now know when and where we will get to get our hands on those demos.

The dates and times will be as follows:

Wednesday, June 12th, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, June 15th, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

You can search Best Buy's site to find a location near you.

Who all is going to check this out? I will probably try to make the trek.

Who knew there was Best Buy in Queens? Guess that's where I'll be going. I was sure it would be in Union Square, oh well.

We should have a mini-NYC-meetup, Wei? Anyone else be around?

@Mop it up I guess that I missed that. Well, we needed a news post anyway!

Do we always have two threads for news? Isn't that a tad redundant?

Oh so can someone tell me if this is every Best Buy in their area, a lot, or a few?

the other thread has the list posted....its pretty bad. especially for a 2 day window with like 5 hrs each day? la-hulz. Not when i gotta drive an hour to get to the Best Buy on the list

Nah I missed the first thread, made this one, thought about locking it and making the other one into a news thread, realized that this one was already linked on Facebook and Twitter and everything, got lazy and left them both open.

Thus solving the problem once and for all.

Fuck. So this is gonna be quite limited? Well, I guess that means their big guns are showing. I expected them to leave these fucking things unattended for weeks or something LOL.

K, them limiting it this badly must mean their big guns are coming. Holy shit. Small windows of time AND limited stores? Could it get packed??

Why does limiting it mean their big guns are coming? I'd think the reverse... you have big guns, you want them to be shown everywhere. But I imagine it is limited just because this isn't necessarily something you're going to do at every shop, period.

The closest one to Anand and I is Schaumburg... about 45-60 minutes from me, probably another 20-30 on top of that for Anand. Boo.

Because they wouldn't leave a new Mario game unattended or hanging around for hours and days on end. They're incredibly protective of their games, they don't want people stealing unfinished game n shit. I think it's their way if protecting their games.

And by making it limited it makes it more exclusive. More special. They're making an event of it as opposed to plopping some dirty demo station around for hours.

Oh you mean limited durationwise, I thought you meant locationwise. I see what you mean.

Probably will drive all the way out to Schaumburg for this. I wonder how nuts it will be? Probably less nutty on Wednesday than on Saturday, but I doubt that I would go on Wednesday.

I more meant the two days thing at certain times, but I did also mean the locations. Either way it makes the event more exclusive.

I'll go, like, any distance if it's Nintendo's big guns. Being that I reside in Vancouver however, that should prove to be a non-issue.

They Updated The List on the Best Buy Website.

Dunno if someone mentioned that yet, but now Century III is listed which would be the Pittsburgh location. (Which is hilarious to me, as C3 is a slum-mall where no one ever goes anymore. Maybe that's a good thing, less lines?)

So if you checked before and didn't see your city, check again?

Schaumburg is still the only Chicagoland location.

I will be going to the Rochester Hills Best Buy on Saturday for sure. Maaaaaybe Wednesday, too. If for nothing else but for all the potential StreetPasses on 3DS!

Hope to meet up with Dr. Fink there, too!

@GameDadGrant
What do you mean "if for nothing else but the streetpasses"? You're not excited to play the new Wii U games?

Orlando has the busiest Best Buys in all of Florida so of course they ARE NOT bringing this to Orlando.

It doesn't look like they've said which stores in Canada will have demo units, unless I've missed something.

Edit: Nevermind, here are the locations for Canada:

Ontario: North York, Toronto, Mississauga, Windsor, London, Ottawa, Kingston, Brampton, Oakville
Quebec: Montreal, Lasalle
Manitoba: Winnipeg
Saskatchewan: Saskatoon
Alberta: Edmonton, Calgary (2 locations)
British Columbia: Vancouver, Langley, Richmond
Nova Scotia: Dartmouth

@Zero
Is that like ZombieLand, NintendoLand, or ZanzibarLand or something?

I dunno, I just call this whole area Chicagoland. One thing that I only recently realized is pretty unique about Chicago as a major city is that Chicago itself only has about 3 million people next to the 7 million in the many, many suburbs / rest of the metropolitan area. So you kind of have to include the rest in any serious discussion on Chicago. Hence the word Chicagoland for me... that's the quick way to describe everything. The city itself is relatively small, really.
