Slow week on the Nintendo Download front. GameFreak's HarmoKnight drops on the 3DS eShop today, and Natsume's Legend of the River King (GBC version) finally arrives on the 3DS Virtual Console. Two 3DS retail games also arrive in the eShop as well, and...that's about it. Be sure to check out your favorite Nintendo digital storefront today, March 28, at noon EDT to see all of this week's updates.
Resident Evil Revelations - Capcom
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - SEGA
HarmoKnight - Nintendo, $14.99
Legend of the River King (Game Boy Color) - Natsume, $4.99
I picked up River King! It's a pretty unique title--in traditional Natsume fashion it takes something seemingly boring (fishing) and mixes it with RPG elements to make it addictive.
Well, it's kind of addictive, anyway. To be honest, the fishing element itself is a little hit-or-miss; it's kind of annoying having to wait for a bite on the GB (where the ambience isn't particularly great), and the reeling mechanics are a little strange and unintuitive when compared to stuff like how Zelda does it. It is an awfully quirky little game, though, (battling wild animals is especially strange) and interesting enough for me to keep playing.
So is it an RPG like DragonQuest, but with a focus on fishing? Is there a story to speak of?
