Hey guys! It's time again for a brand new episode of the NegativeWorld podcast. This time, NinSage and DrFinkelstein discuss all the ins and outs of the Valentine's Nintendo Direct. They also discuss what's been in their systems. Joe comments on games like Gunman Clive and Escapee Go, while Stephen buys things on a whim and finishes The Walking Dead. (Note: Deeper story discussion-spoilers in that section of the podcast)
A note; David finished this much earlier in the week but I fell sicker than I've been in a long time. Thank you to all the fans who wait patiently for each and every podcast we do. We aren't always like clockwork, but we certainly care and are happy to be doing this podcast.
Also, I just only NOW noticed in the enhanced version that I didn't spell check my chapter title of for "Mircale" when I meant Miracle... ah well. Oh and yes I know that HarmoKnight is not HarmonKnight. Oh man I should have checked those over. I usually do but I was working fast to get this out!
Yet another excellent podcast! You two gentlemen hold down the podcast brilliantly on your own (and props to the silent editor, Davoid!) As NinSage was talking about Escapee Go, I thought it sounded a bit familiar, and yes, I've had that game for quite some time. Like everything I play, I only played a bit, but I think I'll pick it up again. I remember enjoying my time with it. And Gunman Clive is just plain great. I did finish that one, but I do still have to play as the other characters. As for Walking Dead, I did just pick it up cheap on PSN, so I'll get to it eventually.
And I knew I loved NinSage for more than his firm stance on last comments. He's a Luigi guy! This is going to be a great year for us goofs who love the skinny brother. And while the first Luigi's mansion might not have been the deepest game ever, I loved the heck out of it. I can't wait for the sequel. It looks great. Then with Super Luigi Bro, Mario Golf and a new Mario and Luigi, it's almost too much. And like you DrFink, I don't have much use for golf (though hitting balls at a driving range is fun), but golf games can be pretty fun, especially of the Mario variety.
Since I listen at work, I invariably forget half the crap I wanted to write. That said, I just want to say again the podcast is hugely appreciated by me. I never have the time, but perhaps I'll eventually be able to guest with you guys. It would be a blast.
I have opposite feelings on Mario Golf: I started playing those games for the golf first, and Mario second. Besides all the malarky involving Mario characters and wacky settings, it is a really well done arcade-style golf game, that harkens back to the old EA PGA Tour games I'd play on the Genesis. Timing based hitting all day! I actually enjoy that style over the newer Tiger Woods swing control mechanic on the Wii.
Plus, with the Toadstool Tour, they added a lot more contol over your swing and hits, like adding super backspin/forespin, etc. Totally awesome.
Gui and Mustache got a first-hand butt whoopin' from me. I'm looking forward to the next installment, and hopefully it has online tournaments! I am also hoping for less RPG stuff. The GBA game was great, but it was severely limited in the amount of courses you could play, and there were too many chores. I just want to whack some balls!
I'm really glad you both enjoyed the podcast. And interesting to see a love of Mario Golf for the opposite reason of me (though I do love the gameplay too). I would be wildly upset to see the series use motion controls and I was really glad to see this next one on 3DS for that fact.
You saying others or yourself? Cause we have a hard time finding people in time slots that work with our own unique schedules. It's not as easy as you'd think Stache.
Yes, we played N64 Mario Golf in Montreal. I have no idea what you were doing. Probably playing some CRAP in the kitchen. And I already told you, next time we play X sports game, I'm not going at 70%. You're getting the full treatment, and then you'll never want to play a sports game with me again.
Rob, I assure you, that is not the case. Speaking so generally doesn't make it true. You should be our official guest round-er-up-er if what you say is truth. But besides all this, how'd you like the episode?
Yea, I can back up my co-host on this one. I assure you, we usually try pulling teeth for a day or two to get people to guest with us and then a lot of times we just say "welp, if we wanna do a podcast it's gonna have to be a Fink'n'Sage special!"
... we don't actually use that phrasing. You get the idea.
But yea, ANYONE is always welcome. But we aren't gonna drive to people's houses with a microphone just to get a 3-man cast.
.... not again anyway. Anand still hasn't forgiven us.
If you're into stealth games make sure you check out Deus Ex: Human Revolution if the rumors are true that it's coming to Wii U (assuming you haven't played it on anything else and assuming you're going to be picking up a Wii U at some point).
How does a GE appearance in the next podcast sound? I still don't have a Wii U but I have played it quite a bit, my friend bought one, I also have a ton of expectations of the system, they just aren't there quite yet so I didnt buy it
P.S nobody goes on Bulbagarden lol, Pedia and Serebii FTW
We've recorded Episode 45 already with Andrew and a special guest developer. But episode 46 needs a guest and should record either in a week or in two weeks (since I'll be gone most of the end of March). If you'd like to officially throw your hat in the ring, we can begin figuring out a proper time. Let me know your availability in a PM! We'd love to have you!
