It may be a Sony day today, but there was some news for Nintendo fans as well. Ubisoft fired off a press release about their much-hyped game Watch Dogs. From the press release:

In Watch_Dogs, players will experience the realities of living in our fully connected society, where individuals and corporations are at risk of exposure by our ever-increasing reliance on networks and technology.

Players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago's central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will be able to tap into the city's omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more. The city of Chicago is now the ultimate weapon.

CHICAGO STYLE BABY!

Also this:

Watch_Dogs will be available on PS4 at launch, along with its release on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Wii U™ system from Nintendo and Windows PC.

Of course, the question in my mind is; will the "current" gen versions be scaled down in some fashion? It really depends on whether the game is being built for the PS4 first and foremost, or the reverse. I suppose we shall have to wait and see!

Yeah, I don't think that stuff is relevant in a game review. A system review, maybe.

@deathly_hallows

I've heard there's a lot more hacking on Playstation and XBOX versions.

@kriswright
My point is the guy who was writing that review seemingly had an agenda and wanted to prove a point about Nintendo that had nothing to do with the quality of Watch Dogs on Wii U. I'm not saying it's the best game ever, but a 4? I doubt it. I'm sure the PS3/360/Wii U versions aren't as slick as the PS4/Xbone versions, but that doesn't mean the game is total crap and not worth playing on Wii U.

Anyway, here'e the IGN video I saw, of course this isn't a full scale review but it looks fine to me:

@Mr_Mustache
Well the PS4/Xbone are like 10X more powerful than the PS3/360/Wii U, every cross-gen game is going to have more features, better graphics, better performance, etc., that ship sailed a long time ago when Nintendo decided to adopt this strategy of being a generation behind in terms of graphics hardware, for better or for worse. That doesn't mean every game is a 4 just for not being on the PS4. If you only have a Wii U and want to play Watch Dogs I say play it! I played CoD Black Ops 2 on the Wii U and it was a last-gen port, but guess what... it was really fun!
