Wait what? How much meat is on them bones? This MIGHT scratch my itch. Why don't they release the fucking game already, shit. Just do an eShop release you pussies.

@carlosrox If the whole Microsoft thing is true, this is probably some compromise. Put this out "exclusively" as a separate game, and then Microsoft can't complain or whatever. Although I wonder what exclusive means here, because I highly doubt that this stuff won't be in the final release for the other platforms. Maybe the Wii U GamePad challenges will be, but the rest? Whatever the case I think this is their answer. I mean, we can stay angry, but I think any chance of the full game coming soon is pretty much done. It's nice to hear that they did listen a bit, even if it was just a response to save face.

@ZeroWhat if a lot of people download this though? Might Ubisoft think it'll show interest in the game? Granted, it's free though...

This seems a heck of a lot better than a demo... still angry about the whole situation and find it stupid though.

thats the thing....if no one downloads it it either shows ubisoft that no one is interested.... or it shows them don't fuck with Nintendo fans ....kinda a coin flip

Challenge mode, ugh. That really isn't what I play platformers for.

@Wellsy529It could be that way but I feel like the internet and Miiverse are really getting through to publishers. I'm grateful for having this ability right out of the Wii U box. It's not just a numbers game anymore, especially when I can see players' reactions near real time in a public, system wide forum.

No thanks. This is cold comfort indeed. They had a purchase now, but much less likely in September. This dumb mode changes nothing.

It's something, they are slightly redeemed. At least they have acknowledged they have made a massive mistake though. Strike 1 Ubisoft, don't be like EA please.

So...wait. This is free. The full game is $60? I'll take the free version please.

I'll give it a try. But I won't probably buy the game still. Perhaps I will be persuaded by it though.

@GameDadGrantWell it depends, I mean released now it would be a no-brainer, I mean what else is there to buy at the moment but amid the massive flurry of games hitting September time I would probably wait for a price drop.

@warerareExactly. I'll (probably) pass when the game releases in September since I'll (hopefully) be busy with other games, so I might as well wait and buy the game for $20 like I did with Origins.

It's all dependent on what gets announced for September. There's a good chance I will still get it day one, just like I would have if it had been released in February, because I fucking love 2D platformers and I have no plan to pick up GTA5 or the Wind Waker remake. But if the eShop is loaded with great releases, or if a retail game catches my eye, who knows.

Okay, I understand. I just read a couple of comments that said they were not going to buy the game now, and I assumed that meant they would NEVER buy the game. I mean sure, the delay sucks and the way Ubi is handling the situation sucks, but...I don't think it'd be a good idea to not play this game, because regardless of the "politics" revolving around it, the game is (apparently) awesome. I don't know why anyone would deny themselves of that. (as gamers) And as a company, if Ubi see the Wii U version not selling well, they'll feel justified in the delay and felt they made the right decision going multiplatform. And it may affect their decisions in the future about what games they'll put on Nintendo's console. That's my opinion, anyway.

@GameDadGrantDepends what's launching around that time. I'll probably get Rayman Legends eventually, but the likelihood of me dropping $60 on it in a season of gaming where we could be looking at a new 3D Mario, a new Mario Kart, Wind Waker in HD, Pokemon on 3DS, and whatever else is coming is highly unlikely. I'll probably buy it when the price drops, like I did with Origins. I would have bought it next week no question.

@GameDadGrantUbisoft has a chance to save face. I mean, the possibility that they're actually bringing other franchises over is something to consider. I suppose if Ubisoft does datasweeps for info about how we feel, would it be all bad if they knew that a good Ubisoft Eł press conference where they announce all their other franchises are coming over to the Wii U too would be enough to convince me that my kids might need to get Rayman again? If they knew that Sleeping Dogs sounded appealing, and by simply doing searches for those kind of key phrases, they might have a shred of hope that all is not lost on the Wii U and their fanbase? Ubisoft.
