Most of us North American Wii U owners already got our 30¢ Balloon Fight download for Nintendo's 30 years, 30 days, 30 cents program. But when do we get our hands on the rest? Well, now you know.
Balloon Fight (NES) - From Wed, 1/23 to Thu, 2/21 F-ZERO (SNES) - From Wed, 2/20 to Thu, 3/21 Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream (NES) - Wed, 3/20 to Thu, 4/18 Kirby's Adventure (NES) - From Wed, 4/17 to Thu, 5/16 Super Metroid (SNES) - From Wed, 5/15 to Thu, 6/13 Yoshi (NES) - From Wed, 6/12 to Thu, 7/11 Donkey Kong (NES) - From Mon, 7/15 to Tue, 8/13
Can't wait to replay Super Metroid on the GamePad!
Cool. I can't wait for Super Metroid. I'll also get F-Zero and Donkey Kong for sure. I have Super Punch Out and Punch Out Wii, so I can't see buying the original again for any price if it isn't the Tyson version, which will never happen.
For 30 cents, I'll buy them all...except for maybe Yoshi. Didn't really care for it on the NES or 3DS VC...couldn't we get, I dunno, Yoshi's Cookie or Wario's Woods instead? Still, happy they're so cheap.
I wasn't sure I liked Yoshi when I got it in the Ambassador Program, but after spending some time with it, I grew to dig it. It's an interesting and unique puzzler, and one I wouldn't have tried if not for getting it for "free." I'm glad I had the opportunity to check it out. Fun game is fun!
Hey, same here. Yoshi is a game I would have never given a second thought. Hell, I wouldn't even had paid .30 cents for it. Just like you, I tried the game out and I've actually played the game for many hours on my 3DS. Fun little puzzle game.
Now, as far as these VC trial titles are concerned, I'm really not excited about any of them. Even for .30 cents, which is nothing, I honestly have no desire to buy any of these games. The only one I might buy is Super Metroid. Though I do own it on the Wii, I have never played any of the original Metroid games. I might splurge for this title and maybe the DK one, but only if it has all 4 stages included.
@GameDadGrant Same here. At first glance I went 'Meh' but later on when I was on the tram going into city for the Wii U event ( I think ) I booted it up and had a blast. It's a great little game and there is no reason not to get it.
I remember getting Yoshi way back in '95 or so for Christmas. It was kind of a bonus game ol' Santa got me along with the SNES. I remember enjoying it then, but it made me a little sad to think that the NES was dying out, and I remember feeling bittersweet about that when this Yoshi music was playing. It was the end of an era! Weird memories...
