Yeah. It's better. The question is: Where does 'maniac' fall in the hierarchy?

I think each word can only use one or the other. Like, you could be (and are) a Legomaniac or a Hemophiliac, but never a Legophiliac or a Hemomaniac.

I'm hoping the fact that the Japanese are getting MOTHER 2 on the Virtual Console (since it was never released on the Wii VC over there) might mean it'll get cleared for a western VC release in the near future...please?

I was thinking about this, and I think it bodes well for a western release. Like you say, it was never released on the Japanese Wii VC, so I suspect that there was some reason it never released here or there. However, I'm not surprised it's not part of our Trial Campaign. After all of the clamoring and bitching over this game, there's no way they're gonna charge 30 cents for it. If it comes over here, they know that at least at launch, they need to charge full price for it.

This could just be misplaced optimism on my part though. After all, that trial was included in Brawl in Japan and nothing ever went beyond that.

I agree with this. They may still give it to us, but not for 30 cents. With the other big games in this trial program, like Super Metroid, it's a safe bet that most people that really wanted them already bought them on the VC so they're not losing much by offering the discount on them.

Yeah, that's exactly how I feel. Super Metroid is a big enough game that most of us who want it already paid for it, but not as big as SMB3 or something, which will sell a gajillion copies anyway. EarthBound still has a chance to make a bunch of money, and NOA won't squander that. Additionally, there were tweets from Shigesato Itoi about updating Mother games for rerelease, so it's possible that the Japanese release has been updated to avoid the copyright issues that may have prevented its VC release in both regions. That's just speculation on my part, but I suspect there was a reason it wasn't on ANY Virtual Console until now.

I agree. Since GBA games are supported, maybe if does well we'll get Mother 3 on the VC as well eventually. But that's probably too much wishful thinking.

@DeputyVanHalen I was going to mention Mother 3 after I said misplaced optimism, but thought better of it.

Wait....Earthbound was never released on the Wii VC, even in Japan?

Heck, if that's the case and it's now being released over there on the Wii U VC, maybe there IS hope it's coming to the west at some point.

Or not. I'll try not to think about this anymore.

Super Metroid is one game I will ever ever mind paying for again and again. I love giving the damn thing money. Easily one of the top games of all time. I don't care if I'm a sucker or not. I love paying for it. And it's not the only game I feel that way about.

Nothing wrong with Phoenix Wright but I pretty much know its not my style of game. It's like KW said, I just somehow feel its not made for me. It's more for the Zero's of the world.

One of the Dark Weres' big goals as gaming fans is to increase Nintendo's awareness of how much RPGs are needed in their lineups worldwide. I think that XenoDolls (totally original name, do not steal) and the Fire Megami crossover are the first signs that Nintendo is getting the message.
The fact that they broadcast these trailers during the North American Nintendo Direct is another good sign.

I would guess that the statement Itoi made a while ago about "[...]making Mother playable[…]" might be about cleaning up all the legal stuff in the script and musical/graphical content before re-releasing one or more games in the series in a way that would be more conducive to a worldwide release, whether Wii[U]Ware, Virtual [U] Console, eShop, or other[U]wise.
