Why not sign up for a (free) account?

I was hoping that the trial thing was just the trial thing and not the entirety of what will be on the VC over the next six months. But I'm prepared to be sadly wrong.

I don't quite understand the 30 day VC trial thingy. Do you get to keep the game forever or only for 30 days?

Looks like the new Xeno game will have some online component. Could be pretty awesome.

@Jargon Yes, please! That is, so long as it's not a subscription thing... Even then, though.... Is that a Dire Diplodocus?

I need to try and not be so excited for a game I won't see for at least a year, I'm sure.

Paying again for VC games: . It's so annoying that they can't just transfer them over. I mean this is a company that waits 4 years before they even lower the price of their retail games. #firstworldproblems
Wind Waker HD Remake: Not to be a whiner but I'm kind of bummed it doesn't look like a cartoon anymore.
Xeno: Man...that's some nice looking footage. When I got into the ND late, I thought it was Monster Hunter or something. That jet pack thing.....whoa.
Yoshi: Cool to see Yoshi on the Wii U, even if I wish they went towards something similar to Yoshi's Island or Wario Land Shake It instead. I'm interested to see how this is going to be different than Kirby's Epic Yarn. Will the (basically) same art style wow people a second time, or is it too much of the same?

Edit: Am I the only one who thought the WW screenshots looked decidedly...cool? Not like, "cool, daddio", but "cool" as in much bluer/greener than the original game.

Nintendo is saving the big guns for E3: Mario, Mario Kart playable and probably a Smash Bros trailer. I'm already hyped.

None of the other games they showed really get my engine running, maybe it's because they all seem way way early in development. I'd be shocked if any of these actually release this year, except maybe Wind Waker HD. I predict Mario and Mario Kart for holiday 2013.

Some interesting tidbits about Wii U VC surfacing:

Customizable controls

Two Gamepads supported

And in Japan, they announced Mother 2 (AKA Earthbound) for Wii U VC.

Apparently Wii U VC has customizable controls! It's taken long enough, but I am thrilled to hear this!

EDIT: lol, Jargon beat me to it

@anon_mastermind

I haven't even played Xenoblade and that trailer got me hyped, especially seeing the online stuff. I'd be much more likely to sink the necessary time into a game like that if I could do it with a party of friends. Plus it just looks really good and flying around in the mech looks epic. Hopefully there's no questions about it coming to NA.

I've been thinking that Super Mario Universe (as the next 3D Mario platformer MUST be called) was the title that would get me to finally get the Wii U.

But Wonderful 101 has a real chance...

So if you already own the Wii VC game, then what your paying for is to add Miiverse integration, changeable button layouts, and off-screen play. For one or two dollars (extrapolating to the N64 titles)? Not a bad deal. I'll throw some cash into the R&D of Miiverse.

Is it just me or does Pikmin 3 look better and better every time they show it?

Guys I gotta admit, I'm not as hyped about the new "Xeno" game as I could be, as I'm like 6 months and 50 hours into Xenoblade and I think the end is still a ways off. It has devoured and consumed me, and when it is finally over, I might need a long, long break before attempting anything like that again.

Of course the game will probably not even hit Japan until 2014 earliest, and then we will have to fight to get it to NA maybe. But still, my current mindset is like NOOOOOOOOOOO, JUST MAKE SOME 30 HOUR HANDHELD RPG OR SOMETHING!

I'm also not sure how I feel about online. I think a big part of why I never finished Monster Hunter Tri is that it's online focused and I can't really keep up with that.

I don't know if it is only happening for me but I'm watching the Nintendo Direct now and the Wonderful 101 footage is uber jaggy. I don't mean the game is, just something happened with the footage.

@Zero
I agree about Xenoblade, and I'm not nearly as far into that as you are. However, since these were slightly different by region, if NoA makes us fight for it after letting that be included in the NA presentation, that's some BS and incredibly stupid on their part.

@Zero
All the game videos were for me when I watched it.

My reactions:
1: Iwata is a classy dude. I love the Iwata asks, I love the Nintendo Directs, I love that he acknowledges the mistakes and problems present. He has really opened up Nintendo over the past couple of years.
2: Most excited for Xeno(whatever) and SMT x FE. These are huge to me and make me just as happy as the idea of the evolution of Mario Galaxy. I can't wait to hear what other "development relationships" Nintendo has cooking, other than the Platinum games one, obviously.
3: The next big 3D Mario game!

Everything else was cool, but these are what I am most psyched about.
