MH3U on 3DS has no online, right? Thus, no sale from this Sage =(

Otherwise, I see a lot of good stuff on that list. Maybe it's because I don't usually buy more than a game or so per month, but I don't see a shortage.

@Jargon Yeah but he could give someone the cartridge as a gift. A used gift.

For Wii U I'll be getting Rayman, The Cave, and Toki Tori. While these are good games, 3 for Q1 is shit. C'mon Nintendo.

Pretty disappointing.... list of games isn't making me scramble for money to get a wii u anymore... playing at my friends house is enough for me for now

On Wii U, I'll probably get Zen Pinball 2 (since the game itself is free), Toki Tori 2, Runner 2, The Cave, and possibly LEGO City Undercover and Rayman Origins. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U version for sure) has my interest as well.

3DS...a lot more. I won't even list them all.

Oh yeah, Pandora's Tower too.

Have you ever thought about buying someone a game as a gift or something instead of buying the same game twice? Wouldn't that money be better spent by giving someone the joy of a new game than saving you the few seconds of changing the cartridge?

What...what is this? Are you asking me to buy you a game or something...?

Also, I'm getting the game digitally not to save myself time to switch cartridges...it's so that I'll actually play the game. Like I said, I never *think* to play Shadow Wars (despite really liking what I've played) but if I had it "on tap" on my 3DS Home Screen, I'd be far more apt to play it, more often.

EDIT: Oh, and to answer your question, yeah. I've bought people games before as a gift. Unfortunately, those games usually go unplayed and forgotten. I've held back on buying game gifts because of that.

Haha no, just a suggestion, especially considering you can get the game for much cheaper than the $40 it'll likely cost to download. But it's your money...

I do hope you're appreciative of the fact that you can afford to buy the same luxury twice when so many people in the world can't afford necessities

Hmmm... still no games that make me want to buy a Wii U before my backlog is under control.

My goodness, Monster Hunter (for either system) should be a system mover. Awesome Lego is on here, too, and Pandora's Tower? I don't even know what else to say. I'm more than pleased with this list. Do we need 24 new games a year to call it successful? Please, no.

I'm picking up:

Zen Pinball 2 (and every table released for it, I can't wait to play this on the gamepad)
The Cave
Rayman Legends
Runner 2 (this is going to be one of the best games of the year, I can feel it)
Need For Speed: Most Wanted
The Amazing Spider Man: Ultimate Edition
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Lego City Undercover
Toki Tori 2
Pandora's Tower (yesssssss, so excited this is coming over)

And then Injustice: Gods Among Us in April....

I hope Pikmin 3 and The Wonderful 101 aren't out until May or June at the earliest. I don't have TIME for all of these games...

Well I bought a shitload of games launch day (and a few after) but in 3 entire months they're only releasing like 3 games I want. And as previously shown, I am willing to throw my money at them. I'm not even that picky. Kinda reminds me of the Wii drought where they were sitting on those 3 Op Rainfall games. Why isn't Nintendo letting me spend more money by releasing more games? It's really, really more their loss than mine. I can go support the other 2 consoles if that's what they want. Great strategy. I'm getting Dead Space 3 on other platfoms, and if that game was on Wii U like it very the fuck much should be, I'd have bought it there.

Edit: MH3U is a maybe for me. And that will not move units here.

Yeah, I'd be buying a lot more games if the flood of Q1 third-party releases were also coming to Wii U. At this point I'm doing my best to avoid buying very many for the other platforms because if I get the next Xbox/PS4 space is going to dictate that the 360/PS3 lose their permanent place in my very small cart that passes for my entertainment center and backwards compatibility hasn't been confirmed yet for either of them. I don't know that it's necessarily Nintendo's fault though. I suppose they could've thrown money at the publishers, but I doubt that would've been worth it.

As it is, Lego City, Monster Hunter and Rayman are definite buys. I would say day 1, but thanks to the timing of my vacation, Rayman is the only one that will actually be day 1 now. Aliens and NFS Most Wanted are maybes. Still though, if you look at the history of Q1 releases after a fall launch, that's still a pretty good lineup.

Plus I'll get Pandora's Tower and Luigi's Mansion at least and maybe a couple other 3DS games.

Well, Orbital up there has 14 games on his list.... I mean, haha, if HE'S getting 14 and you can only find 3 worth purchasing (though Injustice, Pikmin, and 101 aren't on that list), maybe the problem is not with the games provided?

I mean..I don't know how I want to put it. By you not saying that there are any other games worth purchasing, aren't you demeaning like 11 titles on HIS list? I never understood this, and it certainly isn't just you (and I don't mean that to sound as if 'you' specifically are doing this), but I never felt saddened, or whatever, by the "drought." I was buying games all the time throughout, and keep in mind that I only have ONE system. I bought games like Arc Rise Fantasia and Phantom Brave, two games that were hugely unpurchased here, not to mention sports games which I pour HOURS into. I know that you guys play a lot of videogames, but I've already got 40 hours on Madden...this month.

Anybody who didn't have MHT should get MH3U. The game is not for everyone, no, but if you were a fencer, holy cow, I'm incredibly excited for you to get this supremely awesome game and have it be BRAND NEW to you in brilliant HD? RADICAL.

All that is true, but I don't blame anyone for wishing they could buy DmC/Dead Space 3/Bioshock Infinite/Tomb Raider/South Park/Crysis 3, etc on the Wii U either.

Man the Wii U release list is empty. Argh.

Now, now....After all these years you should be used to Nintendo's release schedule looking like this.

Seriously, its only been a couple months since the Wii U was launched and this is only the first quarter. I say before we start complaining too much, lets at least wait until the Wii U has been out for a year. Now come this holiday season in 2013 and then after that, if the Wii U's upcoming quarterly release lists still look like this, then it looks like the same ole-same ole for Nintendo.

If the next gen consoles for Sony and MS are waay more powerful that the Wii U and things end up being the same as it was for the Wii, meaning tons of games for those consoles and just a bone thrown here and there for Nintendo's console, then I think its time for NIntendo to keep up with the other two consoles. Of course now, if the Wii U sells really well as well as Nintendo's software offerings, then as far as Nintendo is concerned, thats all the matters to them. I'm sure they would like more 3rd party supporty, but what all boils down to is NIntendo being successful with it's console and their first party games.

I really do have a feeling that eventually, NIntendo's console and handheld will end up being one in the same. Sooner or later it will just make more sense for Nintendo to go this route. Technologically speaking, we are at the point where a handhand can be just as powerful as a console and not be all huge and cumbersome. I've been thinking for a long time that eventually NIntendo will go this route and with the recent news of their console and handheld techs being all in the same location it seems like this is the first step.

Seriously, think about it, eventually Nintendo wouldn't need all those people if both units end up being the same, plus not counting all the money they would save by only having to make one system that would double as both a handheld and a home console. Of course I could be wrong, but I don't think so. Eventually it will happen. If not next gen then the one thereafter.

Yeah the Wii U release being empty for quarter 1 means nothing. Look at the 3DS which was empty for ages. And as soon as it's first Holiday season after release came around it sold like hotcakes. Nintendo then kept up with the first-party content throughout that next year and the 3DS has become massive because of it.

It's not just the Wii U or 3Ds. This happened with the PS2/Xbox/PS3/Xbox 360/Wii and if the PS4 and Durango actually release this fall, it's highly likely that Q1 of next year will look like this for them. A handful of developers rushed out ports for launch and then everyone who didn't make launch but still wants to make a game for it will take their time for a quality port if they're not doing exclusives since having missed launch there's no incentive to rush. Things like NFS Most Wanted suddenly showing up in March when it released on the others in October makes me think we're likely to be getting a fair number of "better late than never" ports of big games from late 2012/early 2013 through the summer at least.
